Sounds like your state finally got their record keeping up to date. Trooper to Trucker below may have it correct.. Just so you are aware, some companies will ask for lots of different things beyond the federal requirements
Ouch that would hurt him!

I know just giving some helpful legal advice since I know alot on that end and it would be pretty bad to get stopped by DOT and led away in cuffs if you can avoid it.MidwestResident and EndHatred Thank this.
-
Correct that's why I keep telling him to get this cleared up before he goes to orientation.MidwestResident and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

I had a ticket back in 1986 in NY for no HUT sticker.
never paid the ticket, kinda forgot about it and then oneday in 2003 I get popped in Il. at the scale for a permit issue.
They run my license and the next thing I know is I'm getting another ticket for driving on a non valid CDL..
Huh. Yep Ny wants your happy butt..
Several calls and a money order sent overnight.
Now this ticket was issued on an Ohio license which I held at that time. Since then and the time of the ticket I went from Oh. to Il then Ga. license....
So pay the ticket it can really come back to haunt you laterMidwestResident Thanks this. -
Yes other states will know about it through reciprocating laws they just will not extradite for most non violent offenses for the most part.MidwestResident Thanks this.

Take care of it before you do anything else.
The people that don't get sent home.
If they don't find out in Orientation.. They will find out when you are in the middle of nowhere and Fire you then.MidwestResident Thanks this. -
"Before you accuse me , take a look at yourself," BD. Before saying anything about other drivers. For me, out of refresher school, Swift, Werner, and JB Hunt, then Conway Truckload. later Landstar, Greatwide, Schneider Choice, none for a while now. Is that enough?
10 year employment history. Complete arrest, citation, and legal history, back to birth. Health history, and more. I feel that qualifies as comprehensive applications. Online applications.
So, a driver who claims "I forgot that ticket" is just making an excuse, hoping to get away with less than full disclosure. Besides, it's really easy to pull your MVD report. Online, BD. If you need help with that, PM me.MidwestResident Thanks this. -
I'll just say this, the "one more thing" ol' Columbo ploy. I take my CDL seriously, because it supports my family, pays for my moneymaking Freightliner, and gives me disposable income. This thing about forgetting citations is a complete mystery to me. I just don't see how anybody could forget such a serious threat.
MidwestResident Thanks this. -
If you have any outstanding tickets of any kind or type whatsoever, pay them and get a receipt for those payments!
Submit copies of those receipts to both your recruiter and orientation. You may also want to keep a copy of those receipts for yourself, just in case you get stopped by law enforcement out on the streets or highways.
Also, if you have any other old outstanding debts, pay them off and get that pressure off of you.
With the way some states laws are written, especially with child support payments, (or NON-payments), this can seriously effect or cost you your CDL, ironically depriving you of a livelihood to take care of all this.
Good luck to you.
God bless you and your family! God bless the U.S.A.!EndHatred, TROOPER to TRUCKER and Balakov100 Thank this. -
I'm aware of how to get my driving record. I've also filled out several online apps n the past months. I suppose your right, it does deeper than a McDonald's application. I have a full criminal background completed every 3 years at my job now. So i guess it's all relative.
My larger point on the subject was that I can believe the OP when he said he'd forgotten about a ticket, as I'd done the same many years ago. Now, I'd had that situation cleared up over 20 years, so it's a non-issue at his point.
