Hey notarps i read in another post by another drive somewhere, that all mav's trucks are automatic is this true? Are you able to pick between manual or automatic.

Most of them are auto's. You don't get to pick. I road tested in a 10 speed, but got an auto.

I have had to have mine in the shop a couple times. I like it in some ways. It is nice in heavy traffic. I used to have a problem with my left knee burning and aching all the time. I shift mine manually so I control the shift. I don't use the auto feature, but not holding the clutch in when the traffic is creeping is nice.:biggrin_25514:

:biggrin_25511:A driver coming from a company with 6-7months of recent experience. Would he be consider a experience driver or would he have to go out with a trainer.Or is it straight to a truck and off to be dispatched?? Just wanted some info; i've read & read all about mav. With me being in MS i think i have a pretty good chance of driving for them for awhile. But like i said in a thread before that'll i would perfer to come on as a experience driver with some type of flatbedding experience instead of going through training from 6-8wks. Dont get me wrong i would do it but perfer not!!
:biggrin_255: One more question, i seen on here that mav have a Flatbed U.S Division and Longhaul Division if am not mistaken. But how do this operate.. Do both division get the same miles and hometime???:biggrin_2552: For me being in MS what division would be the best to keep me near my arear of living

:biggrin_2556: How would mav label me with 7 months of recent OTR experience? I know mav have a U.S division and LongHaul Division. Whats the different between the two.Are both division getting home weekly?? Do you have a choice between the two, with me living in MS which division will work out the best.. Just pondering and gathering as much information as possible.:biggrin_25514:

You will need the orientation and load securement. Even if you have pulled a board before mav wants you to secure to their standards. US div gets in on weekends for the most part. Long haul stays out 2 weeks. Don't hold me to this, but I think MS is the US div. Div's don't really matter they will bounce you all over to get loads.

I'm going to start orientation in a week & 1/2. Want to run long haul. They told me that long haul runs all 48 states, is that so or do they mean they are available to run all 48? Everyone I talk to says they don't go past Denver.:biggrin_2551:

Ok, there's 51 pages here. Any chance you could clue me in on if they let you stay out longer and what their rider policy exactly is?
