I know about 6 months ago Stevens was at .26 I guess they raised it to .29. Either way it may be more than you make know but you will be living on the road with virtually no home time. I would look elsewhere.

    Chinatown and freightwipper Thank this.

Do you know of any places where a rookie can get good home time?

Averitt Express TL, I have been home most every weekend and after your transitional period pay starts at .37 a mile.

I'll check them out. You don't happen to know if they hire in Denver do you?

We don't run Denver unfortunately. We run 31 states and contract out west,up north, Canada and Mexico. Call a recruiter and check into the companies that we use or it never hurts to ask about driving for them still.

Yeah IDK where the other dude got .33 from.
Everywhere I look at Stevens I see either .28 or .29

Stevens is second only to CR England for lowest paying companies from all I've seen.
Stevens has nice trucks though however you're the one paying for them by working for cheap.

Generally most all places that pay the way to get you a CDL and make you sign a contract aren't known to be places you'd want to stick around after you get some experience.

    TROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this.

Stevens is like so many other training companies...most people move on after the first year or two, but it equips them for their next job and is a stepping stone.
Some people find a home here. It's not for everyone.
When I was driving at Stevens (during the same time TLea was), I made over $50 as a solo driver and over $65 when I was training. Some call that good, some don't.
I am inside now, on the dark side, as an overnight dispatcher.
I have heard many complaints over the years about Stevens, et al, but I'll tell you something I know for sure: many of those complaining drivers are not fit to work at ANY trucking company. And rather than admit this isn't the industry for them, they blame it all on [fill in the blank].
Each person's needs are different. Check carefully and consider where you want to work NEXT. Because I can almost guarantee that no matter who you start with, there will be the next company.
Trucking companies are like ex's. No matter how wonderful they seem to you now, keep in mind, someone else already pushed them away!

    freightwipper and Griffinator Thank this.
