then pay a truck school to practice the driving part and use truck to take driving part. This way it will only cost you at most 1300 instead of $4000 most companies have you pay back

Not everyone knows someone that can teach them how to drive a truck.

New Rules that come out in Sept or OCT not sure which month. All States shall have the same standards for getting your CDL. All the standards can be found they use the standards the State of Washington have and it is a bug a boo!
-
A few years ago the FMCSA proposed a rule that a CDL candidate would have to present a certificate of graduation from a recognized school to the DMV before being skills tested. During the public comments period it was shot down by the schools nationwide and put on hold. Don't know what the current status is.

All states already have the same federal standards , has been that way for some time,. What exactly are you referring to? The states have the right to impose regulations beyond the feds where trucking is concerned,on state roads in particular.
Do you have a link? -
There is standards, like the 160 hours. then some states let you get your CDL on your own just go barrow Uncle Billy big rigger's truck and take the driving and pre trip backing portion. Washington state is toughest state to get your CDL in period! Fact the Feds have rewritten the regs to match Washington's rules.

Every state, every test, every requirement is that of the federal mandate at a minimum, has been so. I still do not get the point you are trying to make. What one state does has nothing to do with any other state in regard to obtaining a CDL after the federal standards are met.
If all you are trying to articulate is that the feds are modeling standards after the state of Washington requirements then, I get it.Last edited: Jul 25, 2015

I applied to several different companies before I chose Averitt. All of them wanted a copy of the certificate from my CDL school and my CDL license faxed to them also.
Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
I included my certifications with all of my applications. I think it much more a concern where the insurance companies are involved, rather than the actual company, past history included. I certainly am of the opinion that having graduated from certified program is looked upon much more favorably than having learned from another source, OJT through a company coming in second.Oldman49 Thanks this.
