Well my perfect driving record is ruined. Been out here for 3 months.

I was driving into Alamagordo, NM and the speed limit drops from 55 to 25 in the really small town on hwy 54. I was so focused on my speed and going through gears, I didn't see the sign for a tiny inspection station that the dot cop had going. No building, just a widened shoulder that he was using. By the time I noticed I was just pashing it and didn't want to slam brakes. Sure enough he jumped on me and the truck behind me as he did the same thing. Pulled us both over.
Ticketed me for $150. Non moving violation he said.
My question is how bad is this on one's record? Is this going to affect me getting another driving job when I move on from this company?

I paid the ticket and now my terminal manager wants to have a risk analysis review? You gotta be joking me...
Ticket paid, lesson learned. What more needs to be said, I don't get it.

Just depends. Some small town tickets aren't even real. Just a revenue farming device. Once ticket is paid you can still hire an attorney for a void judgement.

    HorseShoe and 6daysontheroad Thank this.

It felt like a complete money revenue farm. I have no excuses my fault for not paying more attention, but seriously hire an attorney? Ugh....

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If that's the only ticket you have, shouldn't be much trouble moving on to another job.

Yea only one. Don't plan on getting anymore. I am even more cautious about every sign now. $150 learning lesson. Rookie mistake.

We all miss signs from time to time, rookie or not.
