A friends son works at BTC, From what I've heard, it's a decent place.
TMC also has a terminal in Indy.

Hi, welcome to trucking. Most companies that hire new drivers do not pay very well at all and will be next to impossible getting home time each week. The good news is that you need about 6-12 months of over the road experience to be able to get a job local, and most of the time or at least for me you make so much more money working local. Most of the O.T.R. Companies that hire newbies suck, your best better is to do your research and pick the one that has the best ratings. These companies don't pay much and you have to stay over the road to to make any decent wage, which will suck. But, we all have had to do are time to get our experience. many large companies require you to get your dot physical from places they choose and if you got your physical some where else the will make you get it all ove again. I believe this is because there are place that are cheaper or the doctor is just not that thorough or sometimes some places if you were to fail you pay an extra twenty and they will pass you. If you ask around with drivers to find these places. Cab drivers do this as well. So many trucking companies have specific dot physical places they will require you to go to that they trust. Even if you just got a new dot physical. But, local companies are not as picky. Good luck with your new career and just buckle down and get the experience, it goes by quick.

Some Walmarts have free blood pressure cuffs. Go there to be measured, and before taking your measurement, take 10 slow, easy, deep breaths. Take your blood pressure. If that helps, make sure you do that before your blood pressure is taken. It helps me tremendously.

Get a copy of your long form DOT physical. Those companies that don't require a new physical need it for their files.

I've talked to my recruter for Werner and she sucks very rude and uninformative.
But she did say they don't put rookies on the flatbed positions. And everything she's offering me is like 40,000 a year I fell like that's so so low.

She was close for your first year could be more or less lots of factors involved. like where you run, what your dispatcher is like what account you're on etc Starting out I don't think you should expect more unless you're in a family business. Later buy your own truck.
