I have a similar truck as you 2013 Western Star with Meritor driveline and have had no issues. But I probably have a heavier setup, 13,200 front and 46,000 rears.
Are you running super singles? I have duals.

The newer Eatons seem to be built a little better. A lot of guys around here would avoid buying an older truck with Eatons unless the truck was a good deal.

SNI trucks are spec'ed that's why they have Eaton's, stock fl or WS have the cheap stuff to attract a customer only interested in price. Kind of like the difference in Harbor freight and Snap on, they look the same but completely different.
