I've been doing a bit of research on which company training to go to so I can get my 1 year experience as a new driver. Prime is looking like the best money wise. Home time is not much of a factor for me as I am single and do not have any kids. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the locations that prime trains at and roughly how long it will be from start of school until I am a solo driver. I am living near Dallas, Texas so whichever one is closest would be most convenient for me.
Interested in Prime Inc.

Think they only train out of Springfield mo terminal if you live in Dallas and can pay for cheap accredited school you might be better off giving Tyson a call. Think they start out at a higher rate of pay once off a trainers truck.

Prime is a good choice.
There's also:
Raider Express in Ft. Worth
Millis Transfer in Burleson
Southern Refrigerated Transport in Texarkana
FFE (Frozen Food Express) in Dallas/Ft. Worth
Midwest-coast Transport in Ft. Worth(they pay for CDL school; I think it's C-1 Truck Driver Training in Dallas.) They can place you in reefers or tankers.Last edited: Jul 29, 2015

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if tyson allows team driving after your training period? I've got a friend that is also interested in trucking.

Another question. From what I've been reading, you have to stay near the Prime headquarters in a hotel during training. I would like to know if I can still live in Texas after the training.

I start with prime on the 24th of August. I'm going in the tanker division. Your recruiter would be one to talk to about living in Texas still but I'm sure they have something that will fit.
I live in north west Arkansas and they didn't have a problem with my location.
Good luck. Maybe I'll see you around one day. -
Question: When you go to Prime in Missouri, how do they have you claim residency in that state if you really live in another state? They have you get a Missouri permit and cdl A. Do you have to transfer it back to your home state or can you keep the MO cdl?

Attend a Texas school then you won't have to deal with another trip to the DMV.Last edited: Aug 3, 2015
