I personally have lost jobs, promotions, and even girl friends due to backstabbers and snitches. By the GRACE OF GOD, I did not ever get arrested or sent away due to people as such.
Through the "school of hard knocks", I have learned to trust only 3 people when it comes to keeping a secret or keeping a matter private: me, myself, and I.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Jul 29, 2015

In this state, Michigan, all you have to do is have the keys in your hand or sitting in the truck under the influence and you get nailed. It doesn't matter if the guy is off duty, has been at the restaurant with aliens from mars slamming a few brews down with the green man or what ever, there is something about being drunk or assumption of being drunk while in possession of the vehicle that is a big deal to the law.MidwestResident Thanks this.

I would also check your companies policy on this.I know some carriers will fire drivers if they're caught at a bar off duty even just having a meal there.

If I had a "goof off" load with plenty of time, and I stopped in a area with with a good eatery and a bar, that's where I went. If you are the type to get smashed and get on the road hung over, then you deserve what ever happens to you.
My DM/Dispatcher at Schneider used to laugh at me when I had a run towards Portland or Seattle because he knew I would be asking what the drop dead time was on the load. He knew I was going to stop in St. Regis Montana. There is a little bar/motel/restaurant right off the interstate with a golf course just up the road. (Trestles G.C.) He knew I'd be doing a day of golf and beer.pattyj Thanks this.
