Well, perhaps you SHOULD have asked about it. It is a legitimate part of compensation. Of course maybe you don't plan on staying with any company that long.
But there is no point at throwing stones at someone who asks an apparently serious question.
Of course I highly doubt the bonus figures he has quoted. I don't see ANY of these outfits being that generous. Particularly if it is a union company.
What I can see happening is them giving you the door decal, a pat on the back and a "GOOD JOB, THANKS" right before they give you a kick in the butt and tell you, "NOW GET BACK TO WORK!" Of course, I might be a bit jaded...
Along the same idea, I was surprised to see a million miler sticker on a Werner truck today!
Million mile awards.

I bet money there are less drivers hitting 1 million miles marks with one company then ever before...
They could offer 1 cent a mile for the million achievement....and I bet less then 10 drivers hit it... in 10 years.Big Don Thanks this. -
Well I figured with the rumors and old wives tales that are out pertaining to what companies offer their drivers I was simply looking for legitimate honest answers. Yes I have a million mile award and am within 5 months of my 2nd million miles.

Mudguppy I apologize that my first post wasn't up to your standards and therefore in need of ridicule and critique. Thank you for letting me know how unimportant and useless this question is. I figured that this was the LTL portion of the forum and what better place to bypass rumor and conjecture and simply ask my fellow freight haulers the truth about what their companies give in gratitude for that million miles of safe driving.
Shame on me for not asking something far more profound such as what's the best C.B radio or how to draw a line in my logbook. I'm a 3rd generation driver and I've been doing this for 25 years. I drive across the Rocky Mountains in winter and am 5 months away from my 2nd million miles. If I need advice on driving a truck I'll ask someone. If I'm in need of some witty repertoire I'll talk to some friends. But if I'm in need of a specialist in proctology I'll ask you. It's people like you that can't answer a simple question without the need to put down and shame the person with an air of superiority that brings bile to the edge of my throat.
Big Don thank you for grammatically correcting what I should've asked. I guess my question was far to difficult to answer the way I ask. As far as this forum goes, apparently it's Chanel 19 on the Internet. It was a simple question with a simple answer. What does your company offer for a million miles? Congrats on being the prolific kings of your forum and putting all new members in our place one post at a time.TruckerWife630, EndHatred, lagbrosdetmi and 6 others Thank this. -
Well I'd like to start by saying welcome to the board, I think your first question is actually a really good one. A lot of people sign up on here just to ask a question about their cb and then never come back. This is a forum for everyone to state their opinions and share their story and whatever else in the mind. Post count shouldn't matter on the question one asks. Lol
Rick Brown Thanks this. -
Thanks for posting your question...it was an interesting one....sorry it got hijacked. Congrats on your accomplishments.Panhandler83 and Rick Brown Thank this.

Well i dont get a mile bonus, but every year of clean, no tickets, (warnings included) or repramands for driving behaviour and i get a weeks pay.
-
I apologize for the rant. I just sincerely wanted to know how companies reward the accomplishments of their drivers. I wasn't asking about weekly, monthly or quarterly safety bonus. I wasn't asking about union or non union compensation differences. I wanted to simply find out the truth vs rumor on how different companies recognize drivers accomplishing the specific task of a million miles.
Furthermore if someone asks a single question and then doesn't post anymore, where's the harm. Perhaps they receive smarmy responses back and decide why should I become part of a community that is annoyed at a question and then flames a person for asking. Remember that everyone asked those type of questions at one time so instead of castigating someone for not knowing what you do, help them. That's how you get people to return. Post with an indignant attitude -
and people won't return. Thank almost everyone for your time and responses, and I sincerely apologize to everyone for being petty.

We get alot of repeat questions, unfortunatly it has a poor effect on some people here. Take it for what its worth, its facebook for truckers. ### holes, smat ###'s, geniune, and everything inbetween. Lots of board drivers with nothin better to do. Dont apoligize about standing your ground. But dont exspect apoligies for preceved wrongs done to you by some adam on the internet. We tend to have fun and help people with questions. Just look up getting started or something like that. You will find a thousand of the same question, and the same answers. We could say, go do a search! But we answer again and again. Getting blasted is #### near a hazing ritual here. Get past it you might like it here, dont like it then move on. Not being a dick, just saying it is a truckers site. And ive met nary a driver that wasnt a dick at least some of the time. Myself included.
Mudguppy Thanks this.
