Cb band needs Upgrade

It used to be skip talkers were on the off channels, now days you hear guys talking skip on 19 all the time. I constantly hear some radio shop or truck wash out west that sounds like they're in my backyard in GA.

The guy that works on my stuff won't exceed 66% of a transistors rated value since most of the gain has been achieved by that point anyway, to prolong the life of the rig.Blaskowitz Thanks this. -
Nope. I've made occasional calls on 9 in OH, attempting to report reckless and/or drunk drivers, to which I received no response. Same in Maryland, where they actually have signs saying Ch. 9 is monitored.Blaskowitz Thanks this.

Every police car that I had the dubious pleasure of being seated in that was equipped with a cb was tuned to channel 19. I think most police cars have so much electronic equipment now they likely don't carry cb radios now.
