I thought Swift & Prime wanted drivers. Doesn't seem that way.

For me it's the technical aspect. I like a manual. It has to do with the feeling and feedback I get from the motor, road and so on. Take away the clutch and shifter, and that's two pieces of feedback I was using.

Plus... hell, if you've got air pressure and are on an incline with a dead battery? ...who needs jumper cables.

I've never driven an automatic up a mountain with a load, so maybe I'd change my tune once that happened?

They are supposed to be able to scan the road ahead for terrain changes and apply the accelerator as it deems fit. ...I hate to sound like a nay-sayer for tech, but I don't like tech making choices a human needs to be making. Even if the human making the choices isn't qualified to make them.

Well decided to take your advice and wait a week. See how this interview goes with a local job Weds. Otherwise apparently was told I could fly down to LA and avoid taking the Greyhound. Just got to talk to the recruiter tomorrow. Hopefully he won't be annoyed I didn't go.. I really want to drive for Schneider eventually.

I have pulling liquid chemicals in a tanker. The transmission made the decisions on upshifting/downshifting, etc. and it was perfect. I just sat back and sipped on my coffee.
This was driving a Volvo with a Volve engine married to Volvo auto trans.

It's been a month since graduation. Getting a bit worried I won't get hired.

Relax, are you putting in as many applications as possible or only putting applications at certain carriers?

I've been putting in apps everywhere. I went to May orientation but wasn't a good fit.
