Hauling Ready Mix

Well congratulations. I was talking to a cement delivery driver at a construction site one time and asked what's the worst part of your job.
He told me he forgot to clean out the drum once at the end of the day. When he got to work the next morning they informed him he had to clean it out off the clock.
I never delivered cement before so I asked him how did you get it cleaned out. I felt sorry for the guy as he had to climb inside the drum and spend a hole day with a air chisel . best of luck.

 

Glad you saw my advice or I think it was you...anyways hold her steady Im sure you know how top heavy they are...glad im out of one and glad you are in...they chisel out the drum ever so often and you wash down your truck with special acid....or thats how we did it....geez it has to set fast in Texas

 

Congrats! I tried running mixer, I am here to tell you, it takes a special kind of driver to make a go of it, it is extremely hard work, I lasted a month and a half before I realized it was not for me. I'm not afraid of the hard work, but having to know how to do all the different pours, making sure the slump is just right, having customers yell at ya when you move to fast, then tell ya to slow down when ya speed up, or having the pump operator shut down just as it gets full and you over fill his hopper. Yes indeed, it takes a certain talent to do this. I wish you the best and keep building America.

I did ready mix for a few years, but it was in upstate NY and was way too seasonal for me. No work from November to April. But on call for the occasional load. Drove rear discharge and a conveyor truck, so my pay was slightly more than everyone else. Was allot of work, but worked with some good crews. Money is better on the road though.

 

You working with Ingram? Congrats on the gig. Is it Monday thru Friday?
