I've been lurking this page for a couple months now and just signed up to start at Roadmaster in two weeks. This site has been a great resource for researching the trucking industry.

Best wishes with your new career.
Start the applications the first week of CDL school; don't wait until graduation.
Depending on where you live; dozens of companies to choose from.
Don't let the school pressure you toward any certain companies; you choose for yourself.LuDiesel Thanks this. -
Be sure your company choices accept road masters class/training.

I live in the Orlando area. They seem to promote Werner which doesn't have the best reviews, but most starter companies probably don't. I would definitely welcome suggestions of other companies to look at.

Best of luck to you. Looking forward to your updates.

Covenant has a terminal in Orlando if I remember

Orlando, plenty of good jobs for new CDL grads. Some you need endorsements such as hazmat, tanker, and a TWIC ID Card. TWIC ID Card is used for entry to sea ports, military bases, chemical plants.
Here's some companies :
Abilene Motor Express - many Florida drivers work here/good company.
Florida Beauty Express - teams
Southeastern Freight Lines
Armellini Express - teams
Rinaudo Enterprise
Navajo Express
Twiss Transport - just hired a new CDL grad from Tampa.
CTL Transportation
Schneider Bulk - tanker division
Superior Carriers
Tidewater Transit
SVTN
Groendyke Transport
Trimac Transportation
Freymiller
Pride Transport
Con-way
Dartco
Melton Truck Lines
Midwest-coast Transport
I usually recommend Florida Beauty Express to new drivers that are in dire financial straits and need big paychecks fast. These drivers make average $1700.00 weekly for each driver. This is a fast paced company and only you know the situation you're in financially.
You probably won't hear about any of these companies at CDL school. They all hire new CDL graduates. Some of the websites may have "experience required" so ignore that and apply anyway. The "experience required" is on the websites because either the website isn't up to date or the company uses that to reject an applicant they really don't want.
Submit as many applications as you want and pass this list around to your classmates.Last edited: Aug 6, 2015
