I have a question about log books. Our company only uses our rig for special jobs. It is a oil processor. When I go on a trip it may have been a month since the last trip. What should I put down for the previous days.

If You havent done anything thats needs to be logged since your last trip, I would fill out 1 log sheet for off duty, just remember that 1 log should only be used from the first day after after you got back until the end of that month and another starting the first day of the next month until the day you leave out again. You may also need documentation from your company backing up the amount of off duty days as Im sure theres some D.O.T officer somewhere that maybe wants to see other documents rather than simply believing that you dont drive everyday.

Actually, you have to log all of your compensated time outside of the driving hours. You cannot just log off duty unless it is for non working.

actually i work full time but only drive ocassionaly. Would I have to keep up with all my work?

Yes. You have to record all compensated time on line 4 for each day worked. However, you never said how long the trip is and if it crosses state lines or whatever. That can change the whole issue. -

if you are not driving more then 100 mile radius I think it is, then you dont have to run a log book.
