You know.. this is a topic that really its home for me...

I just got on with a small company pulling hazmat tanker.. my Boss is a very hands on boss and micro manages beyond belief...

He is always calling or texting.. and he instructs me to call or text him at certain places or times.. for example, he may tell me to call him when I am on such and such off ramp.. a d he means call him when I am on the off ramp.. not before or after... made that mistake once... was fully loaded, the off ramp was busy with morning traffic and under construction.. so I kept my full attention to driving.. figured I would call at the bottom of the ramp at the light.. only go figure I hit a green lignt.. so made my left turn.. and saw my entrance.. so I made a right turn into my customers and stopped at the gate... I called him... of course I told him I was at the gate.. and got lectured on following directions.. because he told meto call him when I was on the ramp.. I explained there was heavy traffic and cconstruction and he just said he did t want to hear excuses...

anyway.. he is like that.. and it is extremely frustrating... and I do get worried about all the texting and driving he expects of me and the other drivers...

and if I dont answer his pnone call or text rignt away it is another lecture and bs... I was pulling onto a scale at a scale house once when he texted me.. well.. I didnt respond rignt away because I was on the scale.. of all times for it to take forever it seemed to get a signal from the scale house it had to be then.. well, he text me again just as I got the signal to pull in... well.. I did and grabbed my log books and such to take inside.. I shot off a quick text to him that I was pulled in and being inspected... well he kept texting and calling.. which really sucks when you just want to get through the inspection. . So I finally answered it.. and did be ever go off on me for not answering his first text.. even though I was right there on the scale....

anyway.. I really do not like the distraction of it all and the crappy mood he puts me in...

I was hoping that it would stop or at least slow down after I was there for a bit.. but a driver who has been there the longest.. 17 months said it doesn't... it is just a part of the job..

No way I want to have to pay a ticket for being micro managed...

    sorry... didnt mean to vent..

Wow. I guess your boss has his cellphone in one hand, and your balls in the other!? Ask yourself, "Do I need this job, or do I want a long term career!?" Because if you continue to work in this fashion, your current job is going to end your career. You worked too hard to get your CDL to be pressured into working illegally and potentially losing what could be a bright future for you. Best of luck, I would've already turned In your truck. It's stories like these that make realize how blessed I am to work for myself.

You should have put him on the external speaker as you stood in the scale house, LEO could have broken him from that BS.
Better yet tell him to kiss your donkey and go find a better job.

I love the drivers running 62 in the center lane and when you pass them, they have their cell phone up to their ear, like if they ride in the center lane, you couldn't see them on the phone.

About got run off of the interstate by some crappy moving truck today, as I'm finally passing him. yep, messing with his phone.

Someone needs to let some of these drivers know that their truck WILL move without them being on the cell phone.

People like that cause me to have a severe case of the fugits. I break out in curse words and loud laughter. It can only be treated with another job. Side affects of The fugits are sarcastic comments and rhetorical questions, rude comments and disingenuous remarks proceeded by swift movement of one leg in front of the other and not being able to close the middle finger as I hold my fist in the air for all to see.

I agree. She doesn't need to be treated like that.

A dash clock is cheaper than a headset. Otherwise they have this new thing they just came out with like last week, I think they call it a "watch". I dunno about it really, looks like some overgrown fru fru bracelet with a #### clock on it but I guess they're selling like hot cakes
