I can agree that there is way too much Gov. intrusion in our lives, but I am not outraged over him using his phone because the Gov. said not to use it, I'm outraged because the M.F.er can't keep that S.O.B. between the lines and a constant speed while doing it!
I'm getting REALLY tired of having to pass these IDIOTs on the right because they have no awareness of their surroundings while on the phone.peterd, KenworthGuyNH, Ougigoug and 8 others Thank this. -
Friend of mine got a roadside inspection in Michigan on I94 before crossing into Indiana. He was talking on his bluetooth and the officer claimed he was using his cell. LEO sat in his passenger seat and played with his phone, accessed his phone and went through his messages and phone call looking at the time stamps.
Yeah, he could of said no but he didnt have anything to hide. He even told him, feel free to access my facebook but the LEO laughed and said.. here ya go buddy.. i'm going to give you a ticket for brake constrictions through gladhand instead of a driving while using cellphone/texting in a level 2 inspection. I kid you not. He was convinced he was on his phone but let him off with another ticket... -
I can believe it, that's why my new truck will have Bluetooth wired thru the radio, just like my new pickup, that way the phone can stay in the Glovebox.Ougigoug and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
my bluetooth in my pu is great but way to noisy in my cascadia
but my wife can't tell if i am moving or even have the window open
with my headsetOugigoug, NavigatorWife and 12 ga Thank this. -
May be a stupid question, but does anyone's company pay for your headset or Bluetooth device?
-
just cost of doing business they dont pay my cell phone bill either
-
My friend got one for changing the music on his phone didn't see the cop. And the ticket was 350. But after he fought it he got his money back obviously they couldn't prove he was texting.
-
We don't pay for either headsets or Bluetooth for our drivers, and quite frankly, I really don't believe we should have to, I would imagine that the time our drivers have to use their phone for work is quite a bit less than what they use it for personal business.
Now with that said, we do pay for full time WiFi hotspot ion the truck and do furnish every truck with a tablet, that is how we communicate, keep AOBRD logs, track real time weather and traffic, routing, fuel stops, emails and google earth so a driver can see what he is getting into at every location, we pay for all of the hardware, software and monthly service fee's, do I care that the driver also uses that tablet for personal use? No, not at all.
Not sure if that answers your question or not?Dreamboat, NavigatorWife and Rick Brown Thank this. -
Here is a question I struggle with, IF you were a company owner, and had a strict no hands cell phone policy, that was discussed at length at hiring on, AND employee made to sign off on in print that hand held cell phone was prohibited.
Said driver gets a ticket for cell phone use, company gets hammered for 10,000 fine, should company have to bear the cost in full, or should driver have to pony up?
This should be good.
