I'm writing a novel that takes place in northern Minnesota and I want to mention the logging trucks that I remember going through town a lot. Here's my question for you folks: do logging trucks run at night? After midnight? From one thread on this discussion list it looks like it's mainly a day thing, but I wanted to check to make it accurate. Thank you!

They will head into the woods sometimes 3-5 in the morning depending on how far they have to go in and how far away the mill is. Basically they want to be loaded and at the mill when the gates open so they can get as many loads as they can in a day.
KSpan Thanks this. -
Im in Washington state, around here the log trucks head for the woods around 3:00 AM, most of them are home by 5-6:00PM, I always used to beat the school bus home. We do have one mill that unloads logs from 6:00 AM till midnight, so you can see a log truck on the highway pretty much any time.
