Toll both operators can probably answer the question about diesel fumes and lung cancer. If any group can get lung cancer from diesel fumes, it's toll booth operators.

The food at Country Pride will give you cancer before the diesel fumes will.

    DIRECT FROM OSHA.....
.......The organic carbon includes polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), some of which cause cancer when tested in animals. Workers exposed to diesel exhaust face the risk of health effects ranging from irritation of the eyes and nose, headaches and nausea, to respiratory disease and lung cancer.

Workers have a right to a safe workplace. The law requires employers to provide their employees with safe and healthful workplaces. The OSHA law also prohibits employers from retaliating against employees for exercising their rights under the law (including the right to raise a health and safety concern or report an injury). For more information see www.whistleblowers.gov or Workers' rights under the OSH Act.

If you think your job is unsafe or if you have questions, contact OSHA at 1-800-321-OSHA (6742). Your contact will be kept confidential. We can help. For other valuable worker protection information, such as Workers' Rights, Employer Responsibilities, and other services OSHA offers, visit OSHA's Workers' page.

You can get lung cancer from microwave popcorn bags. Fumes from the glue. I've hauled tanker loads of that glue and they say it's safe, but you know how that goes.

symptoms such as headache, dizziness, light-headedness, nausea, coughing, difficult or labored breathing, tightness of chest, and irritation of the eyes and nose and throat[citation needed]. Long-term exposures can lead to chronic, more serious health problems such as cardiovascular disease, cardiopulmonary disease, and lung cancer,..... decreased cognitive function in older men

Now you know why some of the old-time truckers on here make no sense
