i bought a 2016 Coronado and it's turned out to be a lemon. That said, I'm looking at a 2007 Mack with a MP7 motor. Just wondering if anyone has experience good/bad with them? The truck has 476k miles and a great dyno report. Obviously going to look into deleting the EGR system. Just wondering for some info .... Thanks

That's the same as Volvo D12.

With the proper things "fixed" they're a good motor for mpg and cost of repair as compared to the D13.

What things should I look for to see if they've already been fixed? Someone told me the injector cups and hold-down bolts were an issue. I'm getting the last 6 of the vin and calling my local Mack to get history.

Injectors is a good start but they had less trouble than the D13 too.
Check out OTR performance...tons of D12 goodies

    I always thought MP7 = D11, not D12.

I thought it was 12Liter, so I had to check and you're right it is the D11 !! Guess they skipped the 12 or was that the "early" MP8 before it became the 13?

Guess that'll be a little better for MPG most likely but not quite as much power.

Injectors, cups, oil pressure sensors wicking oil into engine harness are the big things I've seen as a mechanic. Early on also had camshaft issueS

    MP 7 is D11.

Was designed as fuel efficient engine for european cabovers, like Volvo FM and Renault premium.

I have some expiriens with this engine.

First quatuion, what emission level is your engine?

I used to work on E5 engines with DEF.

Aftertreatment modul is like on any Volvo, Mack ore Renault. No any difference.

Engine is reliable enougt, Some weak points are crankshaft pressure sensor, crankcase ventilation system and addirional oil pressure sensor (fitted to right side of engine)

BTW, early D13 had some valve problems, but D11 not
