The answer in my view is that Schneider is cheap and upper management just doesn't care.
They have POS rusted out trailers that are still in use that were built back when I was in middle school (wish that was a joke but it's not). Why? Cause Schneider is cheap.
Lately the hold times to get through to anybody has been longer and longer.. this week has been 20+ minutes every time I called in. Why? Cause Schneider is too cheap to hire enough people to answer the freaking phones.
An understaffed customer service department that posts on load board is probably rushing through everything they do without being careful and verifying what they're posting that's why there's sooo many mistakes.
There's still pay errors on the load board from negative rate loads to loads that pay way beyond what they should.
I see shippers that are always open window drop and hook and but the board they put a set time specific for drop and hook, then when nobody books the load UH OH and it's changed to open window.
Upper management just doesn't care, they don't.
I'm still doing pay error loads (that benefits me) and have been getting paid for them.
Heads should roll if they're giving out free money due to mistakes like that, nope still happening.
I've yet to hear of a "best" trucking company or a trucking company that has their act together and treats drivers well.
Was gonna say if I wasn't making the money I am here I wouldn't put up with all this crap but my other trucking jobs I had there was other crap and BS to put up with. On this forum oh my... there's even way worse out there.
I still feel at least for me this is the best I can do for myself which isn't saying a lot but does say how much this is just one shady industry man...
Oh well rant overLast edited: Aug 12, 2015

I don't have issues with trailers.... My beef is CS sucks!!!

Picked up a TA9 something trailer at Amazon the other day... area around the tail lights totally rusted out and holes everywhere, electrical wires dangling and etc.
One tail light was half way out and broken.
fun times! -
So because it's a customer who tells me directly I shouldn't believe.
However when a Schneider employee tells me it's gospel.
I bet it's hard to keep your teeth white drinking all that Kool-aid. -
I'm going to be done with choice when my lease is up because I need to make personal changes. I also believe the program will be going down the toilet pretty quickly here with the over saturation of drivers. I feel like I will be getting out when the market is peaking, plus the freight market is bound to take a huge dive relatively soon in this fake inflated economy. I'm not about to commit to a 3 year lease.
With that said my overall point wasn't to defend Schneider but to state the obvious fact that there are idiots everywhere in all fields of work and to think that simply changing some procedures or hiring/firing certain individuals in customer service will change anything is wishful thinking at best. You can only rely on yourself out there and your own instincts.TennMan Thanks this. -
Caught our c/s flat out lying the other day when vandalia was running 10hrs behind on loads. This was after I already showed up at lockborne for a load that never
existed I called it a day .
next day I call in a see how far vandalia was behind before I start my clock was assured load would be on time "please check with c/s". "I did your load will be on time".
So I get over there an nope still 5/6 hrs behind. So I sent a nasty message about lying to drivers. I got a response from someone other than who I was previously dealing with who stated " I don't know who you spoke to but I'm seeing notes on the load and showing 5/6 hours behind.
So I explained everything and told her she could now pull me off this one and not to forget the vnu. She did and I was paid and moved on.TennMan Thanks this. -

Probably going with Schneider intermodal in Chicago and be home every night so I can try and start a normal life again LOL. 5 years straight of OTR was a great experience but time to make a change
