Yes you are correct Grammer cop.
You know I may be terrible at grammar and still get to too two messed up as I type but I promise other than some better than you guys I get by just fine.
I hope that fixing that error in my ways and adding nothing of real value made you feel better about yourself.
Because if it did I have accomplished my daily make someone feel better about themselves goal for today.

I just figured he was saying break instead of broke, but didn't want to say broke because thats what his wallet is with all the bad luck he's been having.

CK. the inside of the drum where the brake shoes touch your brake drum to see if it looks like a curved frying pan on the part thats is still there because its worn past its wear limits, that will make the S/cams roll over to top of travel and you will feel like brakes are not stoping as well as when they were new?

    tsavory Thanks this.

Last company I worked for had a rash of brake drums fail on new trailers. They were not seating properly, then once the rims were installed the drum face was forced to flex and breaking the face out , then the rest was just walk in toward the airbags. Always fun taking brand new stuff apart to make sure it was put together correctly! They had to "inspect" 300 trailers.

It was pretty smooth and flat but the outer lip was fairly deep so it's seen a few sets of shoes lol.
Company trailer so who know what kind of abuse it's had.

But you did just maybe tell me why truck breaks seem weak a few days after adjusting if I am correct in my thinking if the cams roll over with automatic slacks it makes them adjust out a few good breaks and they are out of adjustment?

Talked to our mechanic today he said I now know why they went that's the third set of brakes put on without changing drums the other yard has ended up doing all of them and went on to say this is the reason it's company policy to change brakes and drums in sets and always both at the same time.
Guess owner was not happy at all that drums were not changed at last brake change. $160 in parts just cost him almost 2k in parts and labor on the road.

Cat sdp and MJ1657 Thank this.

About 25 years ago was having a brake job done on my KW. Bought new drums, shoes, cams, etc. from KW dealer, they loaded in back of my pick-up.I drove to the shop where work was being done, unloaded parts and never looked at them. When mechanic was installing new drums, he noticed one was cracked, and I mean a good crack all the way through the drum, coming from a bolt hole. Took it back to KW, they called somebody at the National parts level, and he said that was not the first he had heard of that, give me another one to replace the one that broke.I remember they did say they were made over seas

Nobody took the time to measure the inside diameter since no mention of it.
Company trailer - they were probably smoked a few times too. Red hot drums have the molecular structure of the iron changed.

    Grammar does matter.
    'My truck breaks are week.'
Did I just say the stopping distance of my rig is questionable or I park the truck at home for 7 days?
    See what I mean?
And if you ask Grampa, Gramma does matter!

    tsavory Thanks this.
