I googled it. Apparently, the hair is there to hold in our scent. It's all about sexual attraction and the hormones we release.

Well, tell God or mother nature or whoever is in charge, I prefer my women [at least mostly] smooth. I run from over-grown bushy habitats. All they do is provide a nesting place for lice/crabs.

 

I agree partially with your statement (the first half)...i would say that if the hair is acting as a nesting place for bugs, the woman is probably questionable to begin with and no amount of grooming will help that.
