Losing your licence. Advice?

O Rite fellow truckers and truckettes. I have a question directed at veteran truckers and wise guys but I welcome all the By-The-Book / Uncle Sam Jrs to chime in with thier cold and grey knowledge of the laws and regulations if they like.

Now, A really good friend of mine who I consider a "good" driver is in a bit of pickle but isn't very tech savvy so I'm here on his behalf. We were once co drivers and we currently work at the same company.

In July of 2013 he got popped in Utah going down a straightaway doing 92mph in the 80 zone at 3am in the morning. Ouch. Stupid huh?

Kept his nose clean ever since. . . . . Except for all the cocain, he ###### loves it! ...
Kidding.

Now, On June 6th 2015 he comes off of a ramp out of a 70mph zone in Indiana and enters a highway with a 55mph limit doing 72. Popped!!!! Pop. Pop. Pop! Yyyes!

He is cut deep by this one, but excepts his consequences and tells himself "I'll beat this, everything will be alright" right! Right?

But then 9 days later on June 15th 2015 at 0447 on the i5 north just before Buttonwillow while rolling at a cruise speed of 60mph he decides to give it 4 more mphs to pass a truck who's speed habitually keeps fluctuating and Pop Pop Pop Pop Pop #####. Got another speeding ticket for 64 in the 55. Not as bad as the other two, yet doesn't compliment the level of skills I know this man has and especially hurts because he only went 4 over 60 to pass.

Now for all you cold and grey rule of law guys, I respectfully ask you to save the "must not be that good of a driver if he keeps getting tickets" or the "Boy I did a million miles back in my day without not one cotton pickin ticket, I tell ya what!" talk. Everyone will fall short of something from time to time so please, advise don't judge.

Question. I hear that 2 speeding tickets like that within 3 years will prompt the DOT to mandate a 60 day suspension. Is this completely true?

Has the this law changed?

Seems kinda harsh huh?

What to do?

 

What's is Ticket Clinics win rate or ratio? Yes, I'm asking you a question I can Google.

 

I wonder if they get paid to show up?
