I don't know which oilfield you worked in but I never worked 6-3. I did pipe recovery, and fishing for 15 years. I worked from the time the job called until it was done. I'd go 30 hour stretches with no sleep.
This will be a different kind of long hours, but I'm for the challenge.
What was the best thing to help you adjust? Time?
Starting training 8-24

I'm very excited to see what Prime is all about. I did a lot of looking before I decided on Prime. Yeah they have slow trucks, moving roadblocks, bla bla bla. I just want a good solid foundation to build on and Prime seemed like a good fit for me. May not be the best fit for everyone. But not everyone uses Magnum condoms either.

Heavy Equipment operator in Bakersfield california oilfields it was mostly 8 and 10 hour shifts. By the time all the safety paper work was done we get about 4 hours of work done. Good luck with your new adventure if you find yourself unhappy at Prime I encourage you to look at Leavitts we haul long loads and oversize loads. Our drivers make money and are home every weekend.
Poacher Thanks this. -
Hopefully I'm happy with Prime. I do want to work my way into oversized loads eventually.
I worked in Bakersfield for a couple of weeks in the early 90's. I worked for Baker Hughes then. Liked everything out there except the traffic.jerezxp7 Thanks this. -

Good luck to you! I just came to prime this past Monday to start my training and do not regret it one bit! A lot of nice people here willing to help you be part of the team/family. My only regret was I didn't come sooner.
Just a word of advice, make sure you bring all your paperwork with you, like birth certificate etc. it seemed like a lot of people in my class didn't read what to bring and is only causing them trouble now.
Good luck -
I have everything in my binder ready to go. Even taking my passport just in case. Thanks for the heads up though.
Have you had any not make it through yet? If so what for, if you know.
When do you leave out with your trainer?TurnpikeTourist Thanks this. -
I brought my passport as well, haven't needed it though.
Yes people went home already. I don't know real specifics, but some for medical, or background checks, or driving records. Some people think they won't find out if you lie, but believe me and everyone on this forum they will know about it lol.
Don't hide anything and you'll be just fine.
I hope to leave this weekend if I find a trainer or they find me. My class is huge, started around 100 and I'm sure they won't have that many trainers cycle through to pick us all up. My fingers are crossed though.
