The same is true for all of the GPS apps.
Tis true, but if yer aunt was plumbed different, she'd be yer uncle. And if we had some ice cream, we could have cherry pie and ice cream. If we had cherry pie.:biggrin_2552:
Don't mind me, I've just gone a bit nuts here. Nothing unusual. . .:biggrin_25523:

You do know that you can stress yourself out by making things much more complicated than they are, don't you? I admire your desire to research stuff. Hopefully you will do that when it comes to which company you hire on with!

Don't worry about that, I am already an expert in making things more complicated than they really are..... It's just the way my mind works. But I usually end up with better results than most, so no complaints.

And, I am doing that with the companies as well, but from the outside, they look pretty #### similar +or- a few cents.

It seems there is no one to go with where I don't have to give something (sometimes alot) up. But it's only for a year or so (what I keep telling myself).

Still a small chance that linehaul job will call me back. or the fracking site. But I can't wait on them much longer.

I am a little old school! Take a map draw a line and pick your road. Yes you have to know what color roads you can run on and clearances, weights, etc. in the state you are running in. I thank they are almost uniform by now but never assume they are correct. Took a plane, two years ago, and stopped at Staples in New York State to buy an atlas. The first two people did not know what an atlas was. Well it is a book of maps you use for directions to get to where you want to go. Oh, we have gps's for that let me show you where they are at. I am strong on Staples just an example of differences in the generation gap. On the family trip this year with son in law, new world trucker, had his new geismo's and was very impressive transversing back roads. NO I DID NOT ADMIT IT!
NavigatorsWife: Sounds like you have the idea to be the next gillionaire it would just have to be you that have it together not they.
STexan: Mark Twain's most successful books were written it laymens terms! Go for it!
Rambler: I have read that post some were also but missed the $60 part. My grandson can buy games for him and books for me on a tablet thing and I do not thank any large electronic study guide type things were over $30 and they are current. When ever you are in a situation that feels uncomfortable slow down, stop or flee. Spending money paying lumpers that are pushed on you, being woken up and asked to back up two feet so someone else has room to get by the front of you. Help me with my T or Com check. Welcome to trucking.
On the subject of backing I tend to thank of it as a toy trailer. I look at where I want the the back to go where do I need to put the kingpin to make it happen and drive the truck to get it there. Good set up before backing makes like simpler.
On books maybe look into the most printed book ever in the world and study it some also.

Formula for backing lol. I think most of these drivers got into trucking because they were bad at math in school

Good catch. That's probably it. I read a few random pages, and for $11.00 it seems like a worthwhile purchase for a new driver. Too bad it's not available as PDF download for the same price. I hope it also deals with many of the other aspects of trucking besides truck/trailer operation and maneuvering.

I'd write something along these lines if I thought the sales could offset the advertising costs needed to generate any interest among driver wannabe's before they take the plunge.

I honestly don't think this is the book. BUT, it looks good none the less.

They do have it in multiple digital formats HERE..

Also @STexan I am sure a good book like that would sell well on Kindle etc.... You never know until you try... If there is one book on a subject doing well, others will also.
