YOU are your dispatcher so you do what you want. You still have to remember that you run a business but you are in control.jdrentzjr Thanks this. -

Any hiring area restrictions? I know that im in a bad freight area, but am willing to stay out 2-3 weeks to make some cash. I have an older non emission truck that is in very good shape, I will never buy an emission engine of any sort, is that a problem? It is an electronic engine so the electronic logs would work. Ive been doing bulk and that side of the industry has gotten completely ridiculous on rates. In some areas rates are as bad as .80 cpm to the truck with your own authority. I cant afford to keep doing this. I know there are many variables, but on average can a guy make $1.50 to the truck, if a guy stays out and hustles.
barroll Thanks this. -
I used to dispatch for Covenant around 2005 for a couple of years then I started driving. I wouldn't drive for Covenant for no amount of money. I have watched Fleet Mgrs come in and answer their first call and fire the driver because he asked a question...insanity. Covenant has laid off most of their experienced dispatchers/Fleet Mgrs and hired college graduates who know nothing about nothing. Those are just a few reasons not to drive for Covenant. Then you got the upper management issues...egos and attitudes. How about Jerry Eddy and his embezzlement ring back then....a cluster. All the Mgmt ever talks about there is keeping stockholders happy. Its the company of the Golden Parachute...only problem is, the drivers don't get to a parachute. I still know people that work there and drive there.

Hey Bill, did you ever start north south Canadian loads? Looking for Canadian o/o's?
-
Just loaded a F2F truck. Really cool driver spoke good bout the company. Was a volvo #6166

No age restrictions on tractors. As long as the truck passes a DOT annual inspection, you can lease it. I ran an old mechanical engine with them starting out.
Their elogs don't plug into the truck at all. Run them off a phone or tablet.
If you have any other questions, you can PM me, or give the office a call.ghalvie Thanks this. -
Is F2F dispatched or do O/Os pick their loads off an Internet load board?
