If they hire off the street it's because the guys waiting 10 15 years cant qualify or there are no more people bidding a feeder position. Which is why they rarely hire off the street.
As for the health insurance, it's one of the best in the industry and costs the driver NOTHING. I dont know where you get that it sucks.

Team care does suck. Not sure where you are getting the information. it also cost the driver something now. Thank the last vote.

My buddy says a lot of people want the van package driver bid. The feeder driver isn't that wanted cause of nights and driving into sat morning. People want 40hrs off weekends by fri evening and still make over 80k. But there's still enough to people that take the feeder job. I ran into a van package guy who works out at my gym he said he tried feeder and said screw that cause he couldn't hack nights. He said there's plenty of hours as a package driver to make good money.

Feeders is difficult. The weird hours coming from package car is a shocker. zero life.
package is where the money and semi predicable life is at. sure 200-300 stops during peak is a lot. but dang sure is well paid for it.

I'd rather drive at night than during the day any time. I love the night shift.

This is UPS. run till your testicles fall off, abide by browns policies and the federal bull crap, then deal with your personal life. Not trying to be a smart butt. this isn't your typical run smooth see the stars and moon job.

Picking up at the railyard? choo choo is late. now what? Time is ticking, Sweet OT !
not so simple as it sounds. Remember under brown. little johnny is expecting his playstation and dad is furious brown is late. dad ordered it 18 hours ago paid premium S/H

Yes, my buddy works min hours. Doesn't try to work over 45hrs. Still makes 80k. Only draw back about it even though a lot of it is light lifting the body gives way. He's been off of work for 8-9 months cause of his back he's only 37. Feeder is all about the money cause you won't get a normal day shift til 15yrs or more in. He can probably bump into a day shift if he bids one. The money in feeder is insane. One of the runs out here is 600 miles round trip home daily 5 days a week over there it pays 120k base one of the drivers told me. That's not what senior make either on the same run too.

No doubt during the week it's eat, sleep, rinse and repeat. No hanging out with the old lady on a quiet evening during the week. It's very anti social during the week.

I work nights now. I couldn't drive truck during the day in the city anymore. I would blow a head gasket. So I could ease into a job like this.

im fine with running hard. I run hard 6-7 days a week every week now as it is hauling the mail. Nights are just what I prefer.
