York, NE at the Petro.
I had a nice uneventful day, although a bit short.
I got a late start because of the late night last night and I didn't want to have to pay for parking at the TA in Council Bluffs, and I really wanted a shower and I didn't want to pay for that either.
605 miles to go tomorrow for a 2030 delivery in Milwaukee, WI, and I'm hoping I have time to find parking around there that late.
Does anyone know if the Walmart in Milwaukee allows overnight parking? My GPS says yes, but it has been wrong before.
From there I pick up a Lowe's load in IL headed to MN.
Good Night From II

Picking up a coil at AK steel in Ohio right now, heading to Laredo as soon as we're loaded and tarped up. Pretty interesting day. One motorcycle wreck, one 4 wheeler that just seemed to decide he was too good for pavement and drove straight into a field, and a truck fire on 75 in KY. Got a pic of the latter haha
-
How is that a 'haha' moment?

Don't take things so literal. The driver was safe and waved us by. Give it a month or two and he'll probably be laughing about it too.

Moose , if you want to reserve a space there's a Petro 30 miles south on I-94 in Sturtevant but TruckerPath also shows a bunch of Wamarts in the area .
FrankMoosetek13 Thanks this. -
Sitting here broke down in Lincoln, NE at an International dealer waiting on repairs.
A part called a "clock spring" broke again. This part is a rotating plastic plate that is just under the steering wheel. All the controls plug into this plates harness to run things like engine brakes, horns, cruise, and other stuff. There is a plastic locator pin on the plate to keep the plate and steering wheel aligned together so when you turn the wheel the wiring stays aligned in the hole.
That locator pin broke and the steering wheel tore all the wiring apart. This same plastic POS part broke in Billings MT last spring causing me 3 days down and lost a load but I got to meet NoBluffBuff while I was down.
On-Road has authorized the work at a dealer here so now I'm at their mercy. Need to get back on the road soon though!! -
The Petro in Armadillo. Interesting day. With 43k in the box, the winds and the rolling hills on US-287, a whopping 6.5mpg. Talked to the planners and they offered me 3 beer loads. No on all 3, since one was back to Houston for Thursday and 2 where Dallas, Tuesday and Wednesday and before I called talked to my termninal and asked where not to go, and they told me at this time, Dallas.

Not a HaHa moment. I can speak from experience. I have been in one when rolling down the road. The only good thing that happened, I had just signed the papers on the truck that morning and the road tester and I were on a road test with the truck, back in my SNI days and pulling a orange trailer. What a PITA having to deal with 2 insurance companies. Truck was totaled and it happened on the return leg of the road test, about 2 miles from the terminal in Green Bay.

When you're ############ at a truck stop and you tell that story you don't get a chuckle from it? Guess I'm a special kind of a-hole...sorry to offend.
