its official, I'm gonna be needing a turbo soon. I was hoping afrc valve was just acting up, but looks like turbo is the issue.
So, for a 1985 3406b motor is the BW 199119 a good choice? Local guy said he's had success with a bully dog turbo. Personally, I've never heard of them, had to google it. Also saw a pdi turbo for a 3406b motor.
I could really use your input on this one, so any old school cat guys that could point me in the right direction I would appricate it.

People with Bs have been having huge sucsess with the bw 177148
That's what I would put on your engine. -
BW 177148. I will call on Monday and throw that out there and see what's up. Does turbo exchange in N.C still sell turbos. Down by Charlotte?
-
You'll be real happy with that 177148
Call around for best price. -
Turbo exchange is where I would go. Don't ever buy way overpriced BW's from PDI, Bullydog, etc.
-
Ok, cool. Wasn't sure if they were still around.
-
Would a turbo from a C15 fit my 3406b? Also what is an afrc valve and where is it?
-
Don't know if it would fit but I can answer your 2nd question. AFRC stands for Air Fuel Ratio Control. It basically limits how much the rack inside the fuel pump can move. Limiting fuel delivery until the turbo spools up and makes boost. I believe it is located on the back end of the fuel pump (but don't quote me on that). I believe there should be a small line running down from the intake manifold into the AFRC.oldkitty Thanks this.
