Well, that was a little close.
I delivered my load of bottles to Coors and then headed for a rest area along I-43 in WI that is on the way to my next pick in IL.
2 minutes to spare on my 11.
There was a small Pilot on my way here, but I've been there before. It is tiny and it looked full on my way in. I didn't have the minutes to spare to go in and look.
And thanks, A21CAV. I might have gone there but my next load sent me in a different direction.
That Coors I delivered to was nice.
Check in with the guard, drop the trailer, go in to the drivers lounge and call dispatch, get a confirmation number, hook to an mt and go.
They don't even want a copy of the BOL.
It took all of 20 minutes.

Moose...it's funny how experiences at a receiver can be different just because of timing

The last time I was there it was rush hour, pouring rain, 4 or 5 Swift trucks waiting to get in and the Guards were slow as cold gravy. They had maybe 3 spots to drop my load of bottles and all were nearly impossible blind sides with just a few inches of room.
They had NO mty's and we all sat bobtail in that little area where the mty's should've been. A couple hours later I got a trailer solution down off I-43 near the state line then had to drive back up to Milwaukee for my next load.
I was fairly disgusted by the time I got finished

At Little America on I-80 in Wyoming.
Did exactly 620 miles in exactly 10 hours on Line3 getting here from Grand Island NE today. Sure glad my Lil PornStar does better than 62mph to make up for the hills.
Got lucky with my repairs at the International dealer in Lincoln NE. They had the part and did the work, plus a recall item, in just under 5 hours on a Saturday with no appt. I gave the mechanic one of my gallon cans of Pineapple TidBits since he liked the stuff on his pizzas. I picked up 3 gallons of that stuff at a grocery place a couple weeks ago. A driver was walking around giving them away...pay it forward.
Checked Mac30 for something maybe heading towards Houston for home time. One load and it had ridiculous impossible delivery times relative to the pick up in SLC. Was a 2-stop in the middle of Denver at 11pm and 2am the same shift as the pickup. Try to find parking in Denver at 2am. I let that one lay.
We'll see what shows up later or I'll just let my DM press on a planner tomorrow. -
Eads, CO. Was going to go to the receiver since I am pretty sure that can park there and then all of a sudden around Limon my left eye started to bother me so thought that just shut it down until morning. Talked to the planners this morning and then nothing and then in the afternoon sent me a pplan and as soon as saw pu and del could not wait until refused it. Loveland to Logan. No weight on the pplan and I have done this load twice. Remember the old saying, fool me once, fool me twice. There was not going to be a 3rd. First time was about 44,900 and the second time was 45200. Sams to Wal-mart. All dunnage. Another great day with the winds. Went to sleep with the winds from the South. This morning, 17mph coming out of the NNE until got close to Limon and then they did a 180.
Did a MAC 30 and 2 offers, both where Aurora to Pruitt, NM. Nope. Been there done that. Learned my lesson the first time.Last edited: Aug 23, 2015

I love Little America's.
Actually, I love the shower rooms with those big bathtubs.
I'm in Portage, WI at the Petro.
I deliver tomorrow in Shakopee, MN and then pick up a load going to MO.
My truck had a flat that I got fixed at a Love's earlier. It picked up a large piece of metal somewhere along the way, and I just drove with it until I could get somewhere that would be quick. I didn't feel like waiting for an on-road repair, and I was empty.
Swift decided to replace my drive tire with a new trailer tire, I guess because it was $15 cheaper.

Grazing the buffet at the Lodi (OH) TA. Dropped off around midnight last night in Brook Park (suburban Cleveland), and pick up from the same place after 1800 tonight, heading back to Sacramento. This will give us just shy of a 6000 mile week.
We had a few days of unexpected down time last week due to load cancellations, so it's great to get a week like this to replenish the bank account.

St. Joeseph, MO at the Loves. I deliver in KC tomorrow morning then who knows. Command had NOTHING and the Edwardsville planners can't seem to populate the Mac 30 list or plan me.
