looking at your pic, i could add to what you said, but i am a gentleman, and then too, you said you are married...that being said, travel/freight lanes may also dictate where the hiring is done.
for instance, many years ago, I went to Davenport, IA for a flat-bedding job with then PST.
they kept telling me in orientation, that they could get me by my home, once per month. then by the near end of orientation week , they said that since i lived here in New England, they may NEVER get me home, as they have NO freight EVER going up here....
i was pissed beyond belief. i was made to believe that they could get me home, kept me in orientation for a week, then tell me that...
i got back to the motel room, looked in the yellow pages for airlines, flew home that night...leaving one day of orientation left to go, what to stay and never get home....??
Then they DAC'd me for being an employee, OWNER-OP mind you....!!!
wow, i went for a would be COMPANY driver to O/O.....!!!!!!!!
i got that off my DAC real quick.KandeeKane9 Thanks this. -
I want to thank all yall. I know that many men have problems with female truckers. Especially the guys that have been doing this forever. But it is something that I have always wanted to do but kept putting it off. Thank you for bearing with me

What part of WV are you?
We're in Southcentral pa and have a east coast dedicated run through that area coming up for hiring 1st qtr 2016.KandeeKane9 Thanks this. -
If it's bad keep it to yourself lol. But yes the horror stories that I have heard is what scares me. I know they promise you the moon to get you there. I just want the least evil company to start and be able to make enough to pay my bills. I am not expecting to be get big pay checks or even time off. -
I am in the bottom of WV I can to walk to VA from my house in like five minutesKB3MMX Thanks this. -
Schneider, Swift, Knight or Western Express for team. That is if you are both starting out. There are better companies out there though for team if you have some experience. Depends what kind of freight too.
KandeeKane9 Thanks this. -
The only problem is that we both need training and few offer it for people in my area, -
Swift company trucks run 62-63. Just started here in the flatbed division. You'll hear horror stories because Swift really does give almost anyone a chance and of course most of the riff raff will screw something up and blame the company.
Initially I was set on going anywhere but swift but decided to give them a chance as they were willing to promise home time to me for my brothers wedding right after my training period. Only company that would do that for me. I also thought if it came down to it I could quit and at least not miss the company.
All in all I've been impressed with the way things are handled here. Definitely not as bad as the trash talk makes it seem.
definitely getting the miles here. My trainer and I are teaming right now and for the pay period were on track to hit over 7,000 miles.T_Bone, Lightside and KandeeKane9 Thank this. -
oh God no, it wasn't bad what i wanted to say....you said you're married, i don't know if your hubby would appreciate the compliment i wanted to say, however. (as it could be misconstrued as flirting)KandeeKane9 Thanks this.
