I run a single screw, so that's what I did with mine as well.

I quit reading at page 5 but it's driving me nuts he keeps calling them tandems. Tandems and spreads are not the same thing!! Tandems are close together and are weighed as a single axle group of 34,000 spreads are NEVER weighed together and are good for 20,000 each. I know you know this already.

Yes I do know this now and stopped calling them that after I was corrected.

It must be lonely being the only perfect driver who comments without reading the rest of the thread to see if people have learned anything.

    truckon Thanks this.

Lonely no. Do i have the time to read 11 pages to see if you started wording something correctly? Also no. Point is you knew what you meant, others especially other newbs don't always know and learn from posts as well so the wording makes a difference.

So does reading a whole thread before forming an opinion. I am new and learning hence the mistake. You claim not to have the time to read the whole thread but you have time to post your useless comments which could alienate some newbs who are trying to learn. What is it you expect me to do go back and edit all my posts so they are correct? Well I don't care to. I'd rather people see the evolution of a drivers experience and the helpful comments that were posted.

Useless comment? It was correcting a mistake, that could cost someone who doesn't know a ton of money.

And if a new driver feels alienated by someone correcting a potentially expensive mistake they are in the wrong industry.

As you noticed I even posted that I didn't bother to read the rest of the thread for many reasons. Partially because after more experienced drivers told you that moving the 5th wheel was not going to make a difference on your trailer weights you did it anyways. You had the answer to your question in front of you and ignored it. Why would I care to read beyond that point...

Just curious are you new to pulling a spread? You have been on here quite a while wouldn't call you a newb.

Well here we go again. If you had read the thread you would see that moving the 5th wheel took about 133 lbs off my spreads. The reason you read the whole thread is because after soooo many posts after I was corrected and corrected my use of terms your post is useless in this thread. Now if you would like I'm sure you are more than welcome to start your own thread on trucker vocabulary and I will gladly read the whole thing and not make useless comments.
