In cab camera would be a major deal to me, dash cam recording in front no big deal but driver facing not sure i would keep my job.
It's not about the money but more the trust relation etc etc etc
Does airline pilot have facing camera in their ####pit? Pretty sure train engineer doesn't.

I don't like the idea of an in-cab facing camera, but to play a bit of the devil's advocate as food for thought, when you're driving you are on the job for the employer who's paying you. Most 'normal' employees are under the visual surveillance of their employer while they are working, especially if you work in a retail environment. My cubicle is right outside my boss's office and he simply has to ##### (How in the world is the word c-h-I-n-k a censored word?) his neck a smidgeon and he can see what's on my computer screens. To most employees, being observed while working is the expectation without controversy.
Trucking is obviously different than the vast majority of normal jobs, so many aspects of normal employment are skewed. However, what's the significant difference between being observable while you are working as a driver or a normal employee and does that difference justify the hoopla being made?
Once again, I am against it in principal. But, I can't substantially justify it.
My argument only applies to company drivers. Leased and O/O folks have additional issues and arguments against and I haven't heard of any company mandating lease and o/o having in-cab facing cameras. -

Quit. As long as it costs more to install them, maintain them and replace drivers than they save in insurance they'll knock it off.
Ketchikan baby and Knucklehead Thank this. -
I'd bail out if the camera is driver facing.
Knucklehead and Arkansas Thank this. -
I'd dump her

I think if I had to have one I'd spend my day flicking boogers at it.

Put scotch tape over the lens.
See how long they actually take to figure it out....
The brilliant minds at swift......so dumb it hurts to laugh at them -
Simple. Just smear something on the lens and tell them the cameras fogged up from your really hot breath. I've sat next to some drivers in the lounge who sounded like Darth Vader .

Well, most companies have cameras that record everything going on 24/7.
This system probably only acitvates during an event.
While in the front seat you should legally be Line 3 or 4, so I don't see how your privacy is being invaded in the front seat of the company's truck, unless there is a camera pointing at the sleeper. That would just be wrong.BOB42025 Thanks this.
