The Texaco in Rock Springs, WY. After crap from Mac 30 today, like load at 1600 and deliver 236 mile by 1000 and another Pruitt load my DM found me a beer load from Ft. Collins to Calexico. I HATE beer loads and especially these. There is no easy route that does not involve a lot of pulling up hills, so after talking to my DM about this we agreed that I-80 would probably be the best and that is the way he routed me and changed my loaded miles. Then get up on 80 and get a 20mph headwind. Thought that I would never get finished pulling that incline to Laramie, and right now with the hills and of course the weight and winds, whopping 5.9mpg, and unless I get A VERY strong tailwind I do not see it getting any better. At least this load lets me finish with over 2700 miles and the best, I have home time in Ohio on Monday so lets look at the miles to get me home. Will end up with 2 good weeks in a row but then come out of the house on a Friday and deal either with Memphis or Jonestown planners.
Good Night From II

At the FlyJ in Nephi, UT on I-15. Pick up a preloaded trailer at 04:00 a mile away when the shipper opens then start hoofing towards Houston for home time.
Got very lucky late last night and found this 1600 mile load on Mac30. They only had two, both from this shipper going to Houston and both were 32.3K lbs. The first delivered Friday morning inside the 610 Loop at 8am and the 2nd delivered in the northern suburbs Friday afternoon. I grabbed the 2nd choice. I live there and I'm not jacking around with morning rush hour inside the 610 on a Friday morning!! -
Punte Moab Casino, NV. Another long day. Decided after hearing today that we are being targeted in Cali again going to reroute myself down US-95 to I-10 and then into Calexico. I am at 33800 on the trailers and might just be 1 hole back too much. Why take a chance, plus it is about 50 miles shorter. Got a pplan and a message saying that delivery might be a little tight but he will stack me. Well I look at it and then had to call him and ask, did you actually look at the times, pick up at 1500 on the 27th and deliver at 1200 on the 28th, 221 miles to Los Angeles. Declined and he agreed. The times where changed from the time that he looked at it and sent to me, plus home time on Monday in Ohio and that would just have wasted 2 days trying to get home. If no plan by tomorrow I will make a call on Thursday and ask, where is the freight to get me home. Phoenix or Otey and then start to bt to one of the places.

Heading home ... going to stay through Labor Day, I think. I'll talk to Command. If they get me something juicy, next Friday, running me through the holiday, I'll come out ... Otherwise, I'll stay home.

At home in the Big D till Sunday morning. Actually did good the past month. Last week ran Dallas to Denver, Denver to Dallas, Dallas back to Denver and then Denver back to Dallas. Beer cans on both return trips too. And believe it or not, used mac30 all week. It was nice not dealing with planners. Ran my hours out it 5.5 days.

Denver at the TA east.
I delivered a pallet load over 24 hours early. As I was being unloaded a planner offered to let me t-call it and deliver something else they were sitting. I politely declined.
Gonna take the rest of the day off. I'm down to 8 hours on my 70 and generally tired. Been up since 3 am Denver time. -
You can just bet that the great favor of tcalling what you had and taking something else to get unloaded woulda turned into a giant PITA.
Maybe you O/Os get better deals but I've never accepted an "offer" like that didn't turn into a mini-nightmare.

Houstank, out of Denver you can count on the planners screwing the owners bad,
Here at a hotel in el Centro. Today they tried to give me that pplan again and again no, home time. Then my DM called me and said that as far as relocating to either PHX or Otay the fr8 is just has bad there right now and apologized for dropping the ball as far as getting me out of here.
Today drove the GPS nuts. Came down us-95 and then the gps wanted me to turn west on CA-62 and take all the way over and down to 10. Nope stayed on US-95 to Blythe. Then when I got there it wanted me to take 10 over to Indio and back track on CA-86 back to Calexico. Nope, took I-10 to CA-78. Then it really went nuts every time that I tried to reroute. Kept telling me that I was on a restricted route. Funny. I was behind 3 other 18's and many going east and even a border check station. Trying to route me 100 extra miles. Then when I got on CA-115 south to come over it kept trying to get me to take a right onto unpaved roads to get to CA-111.
Got the strangest plan today ever. Bobtail to shipper and get paperwork then bobtail to border customs so they can take care of paperwork and back to shipper and then hook up trailer. Customs is 1 mile away. Then take to el paso and drop. Two additional stops and never haul a trailerLast edited: Aug 26, 2015
