Company A - you say it offers overtime and it also pays cpm? How does that work?
-
No overtime. Just CPM
I don't see where I put they had overtime.. -
Lol. I misread...you had wrote freightliners/peterbuilts offered over time with company. But offered was the beginning of the second line. I was thinkimg if you were getting both hourly AND mileage pay than company A, all the way.

Once factor on the ride quality is the wheelbase of the truck....the longer the better. But then the turning radius can be less.
I am guessing the peterbilt has a longer wheelbase, but you need to hear from drivers that have driven them.
I have driven a long hood Pete, but not sure how it would compare to the aero Pete. -
Get married then the wife will tell you what to do.

I will not say that both companies are crap but here is my thought:
I guess you do not have a lot of experience since you look at 34 or 30 c/mile. In Chicago area price for drivers vary from 45 to 55 or even 60+ c/ mile if you pull a flatbed. To make the math easyer for you here is how I calculate:
2500 miles per week x 1c/ mile x 50 weeks = 1250$ per year
each cent per mile is about 1000$ extra in your pocket at the end of the year.
Do not trust what recruiters tell you. If you need more experience go for any of those big companies, but if you want to make some money leave once you have enough experience. Search for a small company with tops 20 trucks that keeps you moving.
One thing "golden chains" do not know is that those big companies will keep you in areas which are hell (I heard about drivers who did not get out of PA or NJ for months). And you are inexperienced and over there accidents are way more likely to happen. And all you need is one in order not to be able to switch companies after!runningfr8 Thanks this. -
If company A is the one I am thinking, I am on dedicated lanes and get my 10,000, get fuel bonus, mileage bonus. etc.
Best of luck to you in what ever decision you make.
I had to do the 50 hours eval and it went quick, think about it, that is only 5 days. -
I wouldn't work for anybody that doesn't have at least a few runs out to Hawaii every now and then, where I can do a reset. Good, easy miles.
Dreamboat Thanks this. -
I made a run to Hawaii...for some reason, could not get past LA without causing issues with the truck...don't get it....
