There was someone in here who gave an excellent tutorial last year in his tarping approach, complete with step by step instructions and photos. Hurst or Barroll? I can't remember exactly, but the thread was thorough and very well done.

I've never tarped coils, we hauled mostly building products. Doing what we did, we'd untarp and unload then go pick up our reload and tarp that, then drive 4-600 miles and do it all again the next day. I loved tarping, I miss flatbedding most days. Which is why I'm putting together a plan to get back in it.

And this is an old wintertime pic from ID, which is why the bottom of the truck is black.

Mostly in how you put away your tarp is how much easier it is to put on again jus about repetition more than anything. Whereever you load at you can usually ask other drivers even if not from your company and they'll help you out. in my experience of it all ask the senior drivers how they do it get on YouTube and check things out all sorts of info out there

Why would you let them put the shorter coil in between the two? Keep all your tall stuff together if possible. I try to find out what I'm getting when I get to the shipper and then tell them how I want it loaded.

I'd like to know how you all roll up your tarps. Cuz I seem to be the only one folding to the center line.

I hate having to grab a replacement tarp. Never know how its rolled and where center needs to be.

I fold to the center line except the last one from each side, I'll take the first and go 2/3 across then bring the other back over (called a 1/3 letter fold) that way I can lay it on the center of the load and it'll unfold centered.

What I hate is when I get someone elses roll up job and they rolled the ******* things inside out!
