That too, but some are moving to usb (KW in the T680) and Volvo has outlets in the 780 models.

That's what I did with mine, hard wired it to a toggle switch. I had a Kenworth (old stle) toggle with the amber light on the tip of it, used that. I had my cooler on the floor behind the pass seat and mounted the switch on the wall that runs l to r, from the floor to the mattress Never had a heat problem since..

I was very happy not to need to cut the wires to the recepticle. This is something a company driver can do without modifying the truck. If you find a way to route the cooler wire you won't even need to remove the outlet. Just unplug it from the back.

Scrap the Coleman cooler. they just don't work that well. burned out 5 of them in 2 years.

Got a koolatron 6 years ago not one problem, still going strong
only thing I do is wash out the inside every week, and blow any dust out of the fan.

Get a koolatron they work better, last longer. Worth the few bucks more.

Put $25 a week into an envelope and don't touch it until you can afford an Engel.... then come back and thank me later.

Know nothing about them. Don't know any one who has one. Have seen a few in stores.

Wsyrob is that in a freightliner ? If so there is a cigar lighter plug in the cabinet on the floor, on the pass side , on its back wall , about half way up. Almost have to stand on your head to see it. But it is heavy enough to handle the load. All these coolers draw lots of juice! If your repair still heats up , switch to that plug.

    Update:

This mod is still working great. Been almost 2 years and no problems whatsoever.

Thanks again for posting this. I was having heating problems with my Igloo. Cut the plug off and direct wired it after reading your post. No more over heating problems.
