@ grabberblue12 – Hey, GB, thank you very much for that! Good to know that others already using the Optimizer seem to like it. And like you, Brian is looking forward to seeing some positive results from it.

@ Wally Wife – Heyyyyyy, Gloria !!! Yes, I guess we all shall see about the Optimizer, sooner or later! Well, that is truly excellent that Rick got the shift he wanted and his own truck – and how very cool that he got all his heart desires within the same week. SWEET !!! You both must be absolutely ecstatic – and we are certainly thrilled for you!

Brian won his bid for the 5/2-5/3 and he seems to like it a lot so far. While he does have to share the truck with two other drivers, on this schedule at least nobody has to slip-seat. So he is perfectly fine with that arrangement, because he and the other guys all treat each other respectfully and they all keep the truck really nice and clean.

@ NCdriver – hi, and nice to “meet” you! Hmmmm, I don't recall Brian ever mentioning “edp” to me … But I'll pass your comment on to him, as I am sure that he will understand. And thanks!

@ drozzer69 – Wowwwww, Matt, CONGRATzzz!!! How exciting for you and your family! Please give our regards to your dear wife :)

    drozzer69 Thanks this.

Hey, I have a question. I just got the call today that I start orientation on Labor Day in Seymour, IN. My question is will I be coming home between the classroom portion of orientation and going out with a mentor?

Well, hey there, tdreher -- I am tickled pink to be the first to say, WELCOME ABOARD and CONGRATzzz !!!

Yes, you will get to go home between Orientation and your Mentor time. They will need to arrange for a Mentor, decide on your start date, you will have to take some required time off, and you will need to pack for the first trip, etc. But it won't be too long in between, so don't worry too much about that, either.

Thanks! I was pretty excited when I got the call and forgot to ask that question. I was kind of surprised we are starting orientation on a holiday, but it's no big deal. I'm looking forward to doing some dropping and hooking after 22 years of chaining down flatbed loads.

Yes, it is the 6 on and 2 off, which gives you the rotating days off. We like being able to plan things on a weekend, and that is something he never had with his 5/2.

Hey Buzzard............. yeppers, I can't wait for him to get home. This has been quite a week for him, and by extension, us. He was prepared to go back to the 5/2 to get his own truck, and then they posted these 2 6/2's. Woohoo !!!

Tdreher, congrats and welcome to the Walmart Transportation family. Enjoy the ride !!!

Hi, my hubby is gonna be going in on sept23 for the 2nd interview/pre trip and road test in woodland, how do you like your schedules so far?
The shocking thing is 1st interview they told him to reapply in 2017 because he had a citation then a week later they called him in, he was honest about it and he kept clearing it up to hr if they really want him or if it was a mistake. They sure do need him to be there. Any tips?

My husband feels overwhelmed from reading the post here on how strict walmart is.. We are expecting and cannot afford to lose a job if something unexpected happens otr.
Any woodland ,pa drivers out there willing to give info, we appreciate it.

... I really enjoy it so far he most likely will be a Friday out get home Tuesday eve. I really think you have to go above and beyond to be terminated, for instance texting while driving, peeing behind trailers lying about things is a big Nono, by the sounds of it your husband will be fine

It's not that strict at all, are there rules and guidelines ? Yes !! None that we can't live with and make a great living . You have to be a real screw up to get fired. you could have 3 accidents in one year and not get fired. Been here almost 3 years now with no issues at all.

We did have a driver get fired last week. Got into a road rage incident and the motorist captured it all on video. Driver yelling profanities and flipping her off. Video was sent straight to Bentonville you will not win that battle.

    Hearty congratulations Papa Matt! :)

My daughter just started kindergarten this past week and my son entered first grade. It just seemed like yesterday they were born. :)
