My understanding is that mentors aren't allowed to train in autos, only manuals. IF Swift transitions to autos you might be assigned one after testing out, but most likely after testing out you will be assigned a 2-3 year old truck and that will most likely be a manual. Most of their trucks are 9 or 10 speed, although I drove a couple of 13 speeds during my two years.

What truck duo is trying to tell you is dedicated drivers make more money, have better equipment in general, and work smarter for the most part than otr drivers. Some accounts won't allow you to go to all 48 states unfortunately.

Every Smart Carrier from 1 truck to 15000 is bidding for dedicated freight to haul because their is no broker involved sucking up profit.

I hear that Swift DOES have great opportunities in the otr dept. as far as freight. You just have to manage just like any other company. I met a swift o/o and he wasn't driving his tractor but he had a 2013 Jaguar xf so you can make money with swift if you have a good load planner of course and you are always available daily with sufficient hours.

The main difference between the bottom feeder companies and the good ones seems to be more so with benefits and sometimes home time compared to opportunities and actual salary nowadays.

I once traded one zip tie in exchange for a large pack of AAA batteries.

I offered him a bottle of water after since he offered to trade instead of just trying to bum em off me. Still came out ahead :)

I remember that guy and that was years ago up at the wytheville j the one at the Hess bought pilot. Seen em about a week later in Yuma xD

    Was like yo.

And that's the end of my story. Now let's ##### about our dispatchers....

Actually, I don't want an auto. I believe a manual keeps a driver more alert and engaged.

From where I sit, the best thing about Swift is the fact that I don't work there. :D

Do your six months or year, then move on to another company.
Those large companies are all the same. They have 100% turn over rate of drivers.
All they are good for is gaining expierience.
