Ok how's yours been workin out?
-
I dont remember the year egr started but an 02 ISX is the CM570 version, no egr.
550EXHD Thanks this. -
Are the jakes good? Pulls good?
-
I got N14,but ISX are good engines. At 800k you just have to do main bearings and they run without overhaul to 1.5 mil with regular oil changes
-
yes and yes, but worse fuel economy than n14, expect 6-7, instead of 7-8550EXHD Thanks this.

I have a 565 signature ISX in a '99 Pete, and I wouldn't touch another one with a ten foot pole. I'm learning the hard way that apparently the first 1000 ISX engines had some trouble and then things were changed, hopefully for the better. Trouble getting cams for the early ones, lots of check engine problems, etc. Maybe it's just my ignorance on them, but I'm sour on mine. Ran an N-14 in a '97 before that and loved that engine. First problem I have out in the country where I hang out is, everyone wants to argue with me about whether they put ISX's in trucks in '99, well I have one, serial number bears it out as well. It seems to baffle mechanics out in the small shops. In the rare occasion that it is running good, it pulls really good, though.

Man sorry to hear bout those problems.... #### this is a tough decision
