I want a GPS that will not only automatically plan the route, but drive the truck as well!:D
Never forget that GPS is just one of many tools for you to use. The best one, is to use your eyes, coupled with your intelligence, to see when the GPS is going to get you into trouble.

When I first got my 560 the routing was great, now I end up dropping pins in places to get it to route efficiently. One of the last few updates made it really bad.

Truckers path app gets two thumbs up from me. I've only just started using it but it led me to a truck stop on my route with tons of parking and was not found in the pocket ts guide.

I use rands trip planner on my laptop since it easy to change the route to the way u want to go and much easier to see route
and then just import it to the GPS.

And that one has all the current updates too. And no computer cables needed.

I had a GPS. It didn't really impress me with the way it routed a lot of the time, no matter how I had the settings. After using it for about a year, it kicked the bucket, I threw it in the trash. Bought a new atlas and don't even intend to buy another GPS. An atlas works wonderfully for all my city to city planning. Then a little Google on the smart phone or a phone call to the customer solves the local routing issues at least as many times as the screwy GPS ever did.

    Define "current updates."

Given the lead time to receive new map information, format, print and ship, my guess is that those are, at a minimum, six months out-of-date the day the new ones hit the shelves. A GPS can have an updated map the same day it is issued.
