Sometimes, but I ended up getting additional loaded miles and a layover ($100) out of it.
(Ch Robinson load, so I doubt they will pay anything on it)

No wonder I have until Friday to get this delivered. Still being loaded after 1pm appt time. (I was here at 10)
Instead of a beer run I'm going for a PnG to Meijer in Lansing. For Saturday. Then I go home

I sat at the shipper for 9 hours. Detention kicks in 2 hrs after appt time. Looking at 5 hrs detention pay. Now I'm taking a nap before taking off

I get a call from my dispatcher for help this morning, after I took off from savannah. About 30 miles into my trip.
Another driver was denied entry to FT Stewart for some past felony.
I was told I could backtrack and get the load , he takes my load, and I can go right to MI with it.
Sounded like a win to me. More paid miles, and home a day early!
    I agreed.
I drove to meet the driver, we swapped trailers and as soon as I handed him the BOL he bolts.

I get my pickup info and call the broker . No answer. So left a voicemail just as a courtesy to let them know I was covering the load. En route to the gate of the base, I get a call back. Broker said it was covered already. The load is gone.
Now, after deadheading from JAX on Tuesday, I have 0 miles on this week.
I have an empty trailer and very little fuse left.
I call dispatcher back and thank them, although they could have used some lube.
Now I'm in Moncks corner SC for a load that was "going to be ready this afternoon "
Then the broker calls and asks me if I had other picks to do. No. This was it.
"The customer asked if you can pick it up in the morning."
Sure. How much worse can this week get? On the bright side, I can deliver it Saturday. If not I drop it at the warehouse.

Honestly, I needed a week string up like this. It convinced me I am doing the right thing going back to the fleet side .
After this I go home and celebrate 12 years married with a bonfire and beer. Kids are going to friends for that night.
I'll be glad to get home after this week. I need the rest.
