See why I want to wear a mask while operating a Swift truck. I don't want anyone I know to recognize me.

They are not greener, just look that way when the sunlight hits the pasture just right.

Good thing about Swift - Well with Swift's current safety scores Swift gives you the opportunity to meet every DOT Cop in the country! Spend you time enjoying a level 1! Enjoy it because Swift will not pay you for it.

Really? During my two years with Swift I had a total of one level three inspection. I enjoyed getting green lighted at Prepass sites. Can't recall hearing any horror tales of stepped up inspections on Swift, except of course from ignorant outsiders.

Now that I've moved on I've had three inspections in three months. Gee golly, go figure.

The best thing that I found about Swift was the white trucks. The white stands out............................ and gives others drivers enough time to get out of the way.

After nearly 5 years with Swift I've been pulled twice for an inspection.
    How is that being targeted?

    Faulty equipment?
Swift pulls me in for services and inspections at regular intervals. I can pull myself in any time I need something done, and it gets fixed.
    I don't drive faulty equipment!

    Lepton1 and GWS Thank this.

Not to get too far off the track of this thread, Toomanybikes...

... my current employer is O/O only. No company trucks. That leaves maintenance issues up to each O/O fleet owner. If you drive a truck for a good owner, then you don't have any issues. If you drive for an owner that is using their settlement checks like a paycheck and only doing minimal maintenance that's where the issues come in. Rigs take a beating running in the oil fields. Fortunately I'm driving for a great owner, who just happens to also be an ex-Swifty (with 14 years as O/O at Swift as a trainer) that also has a truck that is still leased on with Swift.

Is Swift the BEST company to go with for anyone new or getting back into trucking? I don't think so. However, of the companies I personally visited before making my decision to go with Swift they were the only company that were absolutely "open kimono" when I visited the local terminal. I was invited to walk through the dispatch/planning/recruiting offices without escort, and invited to talk with drivers in the lounge and walk the yard and shop to look at the equipment. Some companies that are highly thought of on this forum actually ran me off their property when I came in to personally check them out.

    GWS Thanks this.
