I've run into a few people who are medicating with stuff like Provigil and Nuvigil. Aren't those screened in DOT drug tests? Wouldn't they come up under amphetamines?

No anti-drug rants please. I can already recite the D.A.R.E. presentation.

    Provigil does not contain amphetamine.

Both drugs aren't classed under the same indication tier and aren't quite the same. They mimic the legal drugs you're referring to but don't work in the body quite the same way. That being said, they can show on a drug screening, but with a valid prescription you should be fine as long as you're not taking it for a dot disqualifying illness such as narcolepsy.

While amphetamines, provigil and nuvigil all are classed to treat jADHD (either as primary or secondary indications.) the difference is that provigil and nuvigil can be prescribed to those with OSA that don't respond well to Cpap or Bipap therapy.

Nuvigil/Provigil can be show up in drug tests, however it isn't necessarily going to be something that you will be tested for unless you're a Professional Gamer or Athlete. Really the main downside with these two drugs is that you need a prescription to have/take them so if you end up getting caught with it you are....well...out of there.

I would suggest checking out Adrafinil it is a precursor to Modafinil (Provigil), so it is turned into Modafinil within your liver. The main difference between Provigil and Adrafinil is that you need a slightly higher dose to get the same effect. There is more info about Adrafinil all over the web and this happens to have a nice amount all bundled up on the same page.

Hope yall find this helpful :)

    Are you sure about that?

If you get caught with it? Or did you mean without a prescription?

If you're caught taking something that you aren't prescribed, then you're pretty much f***** anyways.

There are some trucking-approved medical issues that this med will cover. But there's also some that are blacklisted, if you're diagnosed, you can't drive. Narcolepsy comes to mind for the latter.

I know I am necro'ing a thread. But I was curious about this as well.

I recently started driving and while I don't fall asleep or have any serious conditions, I am a fan of Dave Aspreys/BulletProof Coffee and I would like to take Nootropics. In my life I have had some symptoms of ADD which have mostly been fixed with natural solutions. Currently I take Lithium Orotate, Krill Oil, Licorice and GABA. That seems to do the trick for me.

I have read so many positive reviews of modafinil, I'd love to try it.
But, one-It's expensive. Two-It's not always easy to get a prescription for.

My question, odd as it may be, if I had a prescription for it, but I bought the pills elsewhere (online) would I still get in trouble if it was found in my truck or in my system?

Will it show up on a typical drug screen/pee test?

I've stayed away from stuff like Modafinil because I don't want it coming up in pee tests. It's looks too similar to narcolepsy drugs. I've been keeping it mild with a mix of Brain Awake, Transpterostilbene and Myco Botanicals Brain mix and I get a mild enhancement from it. I'm taking online classes, so I want to boost my attention span and clarity for that. I'm also eating less sugar and juicing 2x/day which also helps.

Also, if I got pulled over and a DOT agent wanted to search my truck (I'm new, I don't know why this would happen) would they even know what this was?

look at the picture in that link https://www.smartdrugsforthought.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Adrafinil2.jpg
Couldn't I just say it's a supplement? And if it was among my other supplements, would I even be questioned?

Does Adrafinil look different in a pee test compared to Modafinil?

They'd know what adrafinil is. I would imagine they would look at it as a mild stimulant, like caffeine pills. The drug test is where I get shy about it. I don't want them picking up a supplement and reading sleep disorders or narcolepsy into it.
