    Here's another one.
About 3 or 4 weeks ago I was to deliver a load. This was a Thursday morning and I was scheduled for home time by Friday evening. When I arrived the receiver didn't have an appt for me. I called my Fleet Manager and explained the situation. He told me he would get back with me. About 30 minutes later he called me and told me they couldn't get an appointment for today. Friday they were closed. Monday was the best they could do. My Fleet Manager told me to go inside and see how much money it would take to get them to unload me today. So off I went. I explained to the I was to unload here, pick up a load and go home to spend the weekend with my grandchildren. The lady went and spoke with the manager who didn't need any cash and he said no. So in order to get me home by Friday the load planner found a place to drop. The closest was in Ohio. I was in northern Illinois. I dropped the trailer, put the bills in a water proof bag, tied them to the air line. Then went and picked up another load headed to Dallas which delivered Tuesday. Friday afternoon I was home. Rolled out Monday morning to Dallas.

I'm bored. I'm sitting up here at a store. It's all hand unload. Not by me. By the employees inside. The first drop only removed 7 boxes. This store gets the rest. Then I'm booking over to Illinois for a D & H and headed home. Lots to do. Grading the road in front of my house. Taking wife to an indoor range were she can have some fun. Then it's off to the store so she can pick out a new one. Then installing a soccer goal for my grandchildren. Then a birthday party for our 2 year old grandson. Then a BBQ. Then hopefully some sleep. Them hit the road again. Life is great.

Everyone be safe and enjoy the road.

Sounds like they have went way above what most companies would do, You said they keep you running over the weekends, Do they give you longer runs so you deliver on Monday, or do you get some loads that deliver the weekends, Then they get you loaded on the weekends. I don't care to do a 32 when I could do it at home lol.

Both. I've been in Florida and dead headed up to Alabama, Georgia, South and North Carolina, picked up loads going as far as Dallas, Oklahoma City as well as Minnesota. I've also received loads that would deliver on a Saturday or Sunday and by Friday at 17:00 I've already been assigned a load to keep me running through Monday or Tuesday. As far as my 34 hour restart. It's at my home with my family. I don't think they really want there drivers doing a 34 out on the road away from their families. I'm not saying it wont happen, but its highly unlikely. I normally leave out on a Monday morning and stay out for 11 or 12 days. The following Monday, my 8th day out my Fleet Manager is making sure my assignments are bringing me back to the yard or to my house.

I stopped to relax and watch the sunset after walking laps around the rest area in Arkansas.

This is a D&H in Illinois. Some times the loaded trailer is already pulled out and waiting. This one wasn't. My pick up was 15:00 but I arrived at noon, pulled it out myself. A little tight and very dark inside.

    EXIT BLOCKED_opt.jpg
This is US 78 in Alabama last week. I have no clue how this could happen. An LEO was blocking the ramp with his car. Notice the sign reads (NO TRUCKS) and no other LEO's down the road directing traffic. I've always wondered what was down the road. Well every exit past this one read NO TRUCKS ALLOWED. When you take the last exit and T/R, go to a T in the road then T/L you end up at the Fly J on I-65.
