What's the advantages and disadvantages of getting a longer wheel base?

    All things being equal?

    Comfort.

You'll pay for it in turning radius though (and weight, and aero, yadda yadda yadda, things you've heard before).

will there be a significant difference in all of the above mention factors if the difference in length is about 16"? (224" vs 240" wheelbase.)

Longer wheelbase trucks do ride better, and they do look nice dressed up, although I've never stood in a parking lot and though "Wow my truck is purdy." Like they say, chrome won't get you home.
Disadvantages? Lower MPG, harder to turn/park....
All things being equal, I'll take my Volvo any day. Of course, it helps that I'm not making the payments on it thoough...:yes2557:

Chrome may not get you home ol' buddy but you'll sure as hell look good behind a Draggin'wagon if your shining.:biggrin_2559:

16" will make a bit of difference......It's some work and unless you worked with somebody who's done it several times,I would VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND you take it to a qualified shop that does a lot of stretches.

Setback axle ,i dont know i never seen a difference, get in a truck with a 275+" wb then you will see what turning radius is about, 240" aint nothing.

    Muleskinner Thanks this.

He ain't kidding in the least....The 359 in my pics is 302" and you'd best have your mind made up right when it came time to make a tight move or the rest of the cowboys would be laughing at you as you got all crossthreaded:biggrin_25524:

:biggrin_25514:Thank you.....Words can't describe how much I miss it.If I could have just found a driver with half a brain at least,I could've kept it till I got healed up,but just like that high roller of yours, you can't put a idiot in it because the first time they take off with it you'll end up with a candy caned drive line.Worse yet,if all goes well and I end up with the 007,I'm going to be running for the same outfit that the guy who owns it now is running for and I'll see it out on the road a time or two every week.:biggrin_2556:That'll gouge me.lol
