Mine worked great for a week after update and then started getting nav error on boot up. Last trip of the week it did this though Indy and reboot worked fine rest the way home but has not been able to fully boot since. Either nav error or it freezes once hitting the acknowledgment screen.

did this update finally fix all of these navi.exe error's i keep getting? some times i can go days without one, other times i almost can't even use the unit. i'm now driving locally and it always seems to happen at the worst times.

I cringe to ask for fear of the expected answer; since the 510/710 series is not listed, are we going to be left behind on future updates or are we 'work in' legacy devices at the bottom of priority list?

If we are going to get the updates, is the random soft lockup on the new junction view introduced from previous major update one of the bug fixes?

    Cheers

    Hello,

My question is regarding the TND 720, I have been running this unit about a year and half almost two years, its a great GPS unit. She has never let me down and the times I did not find the address I was able to find it on google maps and show her where I need to go =). I have done regular updates every week to a month. And I also got a Micro SD card for the map update. So I am kinda attached to her.

I recently started to notice that when in the truck the power light was flashing(over bumps or when the unit was talking to me). I moved the cable to the right and it was fine for a few weeks. The power got disconnected so I moved the cable to the front of the unit and was fine for this last week. Yesterday I was unable to restore power no matter what location the cable is(moving at the back plug).

I brought the GPS unit home to try the wall mount power and that did not work as well, but the computer(USB cable) that I use for updates works fine and is connected even if I move/wiggle the plug the light stays a solid red(will see if it will charge to green, but I think it will in a hour or so. must use a different pin then just the power cable(s)) The plug in that back of the unit has some free play. Is there anything I can do to fix this? (like open and/or secure or soder the plug, or do I need to buy a new 12v cable for the truck? or buy the new GPS(tablet)?)

I also have a EOBR for my E-Logs that I use I think it might be a 730 or something kinda looks like the 720. So I transferred my address books to it for now, but I would still like to use this unit as its better for maps and keeps track of my miles. And the other for just logs/hours.

Thanks for any input or recommendations,
    Mike "mehow"

^^^^ To the tee , that post above is almost spot on for my problem ! New map update with a mem 8gb ( 8gb fell out some where in the dash ) thought maybe that was it .. Put a 16gb and No Go ! 720 shows a locked ( after the start up ) screen saying " System file missing " ? The dock do's not see it connected , the GPS knows it is connected and the dock states that yu must be connected and internet connected for the " repair / diagnostic " to work . I've this this unit and updated from the time I started trucking to now . It did this right in the middle of a run also ;( ! I can't sit due to I have a new local gig (daycab) and need a active unit . I took off to best buy and bought a 730 to use now ( HD100 thru Amazon ) .. My miles in OTR and all the stops I hope aren't lost ? Next question is , the dock program ? Do I pull the 720's dock off this laptop and act like this 730 is the new one ? Do's the Dock smart enuff to see a 720 & 730 are in use ? THX
