Everything is probably listed, such as torn off mudflat, 1" long scratch paint on trailer, etc. This is another reason drivers should quit snitching on themselves and each other. It's bad enough with DOT officers and every cop in the nation trying to be relevant by harassing truckers, so truckers should take pride in taking care of each other.

It most certainly is possible with e logs. Your driving window is not going to consistently be 14 hours, nor your breaks 10 hours.

    OP......

Pay more attention to detail on your next job. Almost all of us on here have bumped into something at one point.

I will bet that most everyone will agree that it was because the didn't take the time to get out and look.

Your OK.......it ain't the end of the world.

Sorry to hear you got fired. I have been there before. All I was thinking about when I read this is what excuse is coming next. You said with the first one you shouldnt have been there...you were there. So you still have to operate the truck in a safe manner. I have been sleep deprived before. To the point where I thought I saw cars backing down an exit ramp not going forward. At that point I delievered. Then told diapatch I was going to bed. Explained the situation and told them I would leave out when I was ready. They said okay. Gotta speak up for yourself man.

All that being said we all make mistakes. Disclose your accidents but look for smaller companies that may be willing to hire you. Good luck.

ok, but the problem, even though you say the K-Mart managers are dolts, now you have left open the ability BY THEM, to BLAME an innocent driver who may be parked too close to the fence, and they blame him and he get's his arse reamed out, and potentially fired for it.??

how many times as a thread mentioning that been on here..??? a few times.

you are NOT snitching, you are "preserving" the integrity of the PROFESSION when you "drop a dime" on the guilty.

and you certainly do not have to sit with a pair of binoculars or telescope or crystal ball either. but if you "just happen to catch something in your line of sight"..???

as far as the car being illegally parked, who cares? let the responding cops figure that out, and the insurance companies. in fact, in all reality, how did you positively beyond a reasonable doubt, know that car's owner was not given permission to park there, OR had a medical issue, and SOME ONE else parked it there..??? what if it was a Security Guards car, and he was making his rounds, and was chasing someone, and parked there??? you had NO IDEA the circumstances why that car was there, now do you??

again, by YOU NOT dropping a dime, you in effect, condoned the actions of the drivers that caused these accidents.

I HAVE dropped more than one dime in my time, and i will continue to do so. it's "the right thing to do", let the companies, insurance companies, police figure it all out. by not dropping that all important dime, even if by an "anonymous tip", you lent the detractors of this industry a whopping big helping hand to clamp down on us further.

The customer said no one had permission to park there. He looked over my truck and trailer and saw no damage and said,"Wonder what happended?" I said, "Beats me!"
The K-Mart fence; the store manager asked if I saw who tore it down and I said "NO."
Yep, I lied for both Swift drivers and don't feel bad about it at all.

well, it beats me, that you are condoning the actions of inept drivers.

you are/have been, basically making it more difficult for the innocents that get blamed later on.

Had a driver call in on me. Luckily my dispatcher took the call. Driver said I ran him off the road in St Louis doing about 75 mph and flipped him off. My dispatcher asks me about it and I said ya I flipped him off and told him what really happened. Of course dispatcher believed me since we're governed at 65. I told my dispatcher I'd refrain from flipping people off and he said he'd have flipped him off too so don't worry about it.

I'm no fan of Swift and would never work there, but the drivers are no different than the rest of us, just trying to work and survive and take care of families. I won't be the one to cause one to be fired over something like those two incidents. CR England has the worst reputation and I'd do the same for their drivers. To me it's no big deal. Hey, maybe I should become a Buddhist! They have peaceful lives and don't meddle. My wife and children are Buddhists, so maybe I'll join them. I do visit the temples with them, but just stand off to the side and scratch my head.

I had a Stevens snitch call dispatch when I worked there that I did a uturn in a truckstop parking lot and bent my cab extender. It was already bent. Fortunately when I was assigned that truck, I noted that down on the paperwork I filled out so when I was notified that I had been seen bending it I politely told them to look at the inspection sheet I filled out. That was the end of that discussion. :)
