I know this is going to be really subjective and hard to put a accurate number on but has anybody figured out what their yearly repair/maintenance costs run? Or maybe per CPM cost? I've seen maintenance account numbers (CPM) but I assume this doesn't include actual repairs.

    Thx.

No it is not hard to figure but it is hard to project an exact number but if you want other peoples numbers mine run between .45 and .65 cpm on a yearly basis

I run around 130,000 miles per year and average around $15,000 per year to keep the truck rolling.

Depends, just met a guy at a truckstop, asked him about his international with cummins, he said he dropped 9k in the emission repairs few weeks ago.
On the pre emission truck, you can do an engine overhaul for that amount of money.
So I say on the pre emission truck 10-20k per year and on the newer ones its hard to estimate, can be 10k, can be 60k. Yes, I also know somebody who spent 60k putting new engine in his 2009

A lot depends on where you operate as well as how much maintenance you do yourself vs paying a mechanic. Local shop rate here is over $200 at pretty much any mechanic shop/dealer. I'd Imagine that'd add up pretty quickly for major work.

Factor in union smoke breaks and doddle time, shops are out of the question.

This year will be high for me, spent quite a bit of money upgrading the trailer, and had to replace the power divider, plus I just rolled over 1million miles, so the little things are starting to add up, like exhaust manifold, new airbags, etc. I'm figuring around $25,000, with 8,000 of that for the trailer expenses. We run about 90,000 miles a year. 2001 Int. with a 60's series detroit. Still beats the crud out of payments on new or DPF problems.....

About 30cpm on 80k miles/year paying someone else to do the work and maintaining it as if it'll last forever.

Could easily cut that in half doing stuff myself and fixing only DOT-regulated items.

    2001 international 9400 w/ 12.7 & 1.7 million miles...

it depends on how you do it and why.

I break down it into two categories, one being reoccurring maintenance and the other is repairs. Within the first category, I further take things that wear out and amortize them (tires are a major one), which gives me a variable cost to work with and those items get replaced before they need to be replace, then the other half of the category I add it in based on last years mileage, like oil changes - I estimate them at 80k, with OAs and filter changes between oil changes.

repairs are flat rated based on current shop hours and worst case. This gives me a number to add into the total costs.
